Mounds View PD’s notable calls for service over the past couple weeks.
Wednesday 8/6
Around 8:48pm, a male and female thought the park-n-ride on County Road H would be a great place for a photo shoot… but first they wanted to spruce up the bridge wall a bit. Using blue and yellow spray paint, they created a work of art and were awarded criminal damage to property tickets.
Friday 8/8
An ex-boyfriend refused to leave an apartment in the 7600 block of Greenfield Ave. The ex-boyfriend even threatened to kill a cat. Officers arrived at 2:05pm to mediate the removal of the ex-boyfriend. Unfortunately, he didn’t want to leave and even threatens to assault the ex-girlfriend right in front of officers. The officers tried to place him into custody, but the fight was on. Thankfully, both officers were able to subdue the male until neighboring departments arrived to assist. Subsequently, the male was booked into jail for domestic assault and obstruction. Also, the cat in question is safe and okay!
Saturday 8/9
Officers were called to a domestic assault around 6:55pm, in the 2200 block of Cheshire Circle. The wife reported her husband assaulted her by pulling her hair and hitting her in the face. Officers located strands of hair on the living room floor. The husband was taken into custody for domestic assault.
Sunday 8/9
At 11:09am, neighbors could hear a male and female screaming in the 7600 block of Knollwood Drive. Officers arrived, investigated what happened and determined the male assaulted the female with a Minute Maid Lemonade bottle. The male was taken into custody for domestic assault.
Tuesday 8/11
Around 4:28am, officers responded to the 2600 block of Mounds View Boulevard, for a medical pendant alarm. Officers couldn’t hear any noise coming from the apartment and the female was not answering the door. One officer even scaled a second story balcony in an attempt to make entry. The only option was to break down the door. During all this, an intoxicated neighbor from across the hall decided to get involved. The neighbor refused to go back into his apartment but instead, balled up his fists and took a fighting stance toward officers. With time working against the officers and paramedics, the neighbor was taken into custody. An officer used a battering ram to open the female’s apartment door. The female was found alive but in need of medical attention at a hospital. The neighbor on the other hand was transported to the Ramsey County Jail.
At about 11:26pm, an officer was patrolling the parking lot of Speedway, when they encountered a male with an outstanding drug warrant. The male was taken into custody and transported to the Hennepin County Jail. Earlier in the day, an officer took a catalytic converter theft report in the 2600 block of Scotland Court.
Wednesday 8/12
The smell of smoke gripped the 3000 block of Ardmore Ave. Officers responded to a house fire around 4:35pm. Officers found a wooden porch connected to a house that was fully engulfed in flames. The SBM Fire Department assisted officers on scene with extinguishing the fire. The home was saved, nobody was hurt and ci******es were the possible culprit of the fire.
Thursday 8/13
During day shift, there were two separate incidents involving theft from vehicles. The first incident occurred in the 2200 block of Knoll Drive, and the other occurred in the 2700 block of Hillview Road. Items were stolen from multiple vehicles, including personal credit cards. The suspects in both cases were caught in Maple Grove and arrested.
At about 6:46pm, officers responded to a group home in the 2400 block of Woodcrest Dr. An adult male was making threats toward staff. The male tried several times to gain entry into an office where a staff member was locked inside. The male even attempted to use his body to break down the door. Officers took the male into custody for threats of violence. Earlier in the week, the same male was given a citation for disorderly conduct.
Saturday 8/15
Officers were dispatched to a welfare check of a female in the 7700 block of Silver Lake Road. The female reported to bystanders, she had been taken against her will, given drugs and assaulted. Unfortunately, the female left prior to officers arriving on scene. There was little information provided to the officers about what happened.
Sunday 8/16
Around 6:44pm, officers responded to the 2200 block of Groberg Street, for a domestic dispute between a male and female. Both claimed a physical altercation occurred between the two of them. Come to find out, the female moved here from Chicago around the same time a fully extraditable warrant was issued for her arrest. Officers took the female into custody and she is awaiting extradition back to Illinois.
