đź’™ Thank You, Messiah Lutheran Church! đź’™

A huge thank-you to Messiah Lutheran Church and Preschool for their incredible generosity during Vacation Bible School! Their VBS donation brought 600 pounds of food and more than 5,000 diapers to the Ralph Reeder Food Shelf.

These donations will make a tremendous difference for local families in our community. Food and diapers are both items that families regularly need, and this generosity will help us provide essential resources to those who depend on the food shelf.

We are so grateful to the children, families, congregation, and everyone who helped make this VBS donation possible. Thank you, Messiah Lutheran Church, for teaching generosity and putting that lesson into action! ❤️

đź’™ Thank You, New Brighton & Mounds View! đź’™

We are incredibly grateful to the City of New Brighton and the City of Mounds View for collecting and donating food and school supplies to the Ralph Reeder Food Shelf during National Night Out and Night to Unite last week!

We also want to thank the New Brighton Department of Public Safety and Mounds View Police Department who delivered the generous donations collected from residents to our food shelf. We appreciate you helping bring our community's generosity directly to the families we serve!

These community events are a wonderful reminder of what can happen when neighbors come together to support one another. The generous donations will help provide food and school supplies to local families in our community.

A special thank-you as well to all of the volunteers who helped collect, sort, organize, and process these donations. Your time and hard work make it possible for us to get these resources into the hands of the families who need them.

🎒✏️ Help Students Start the School Year Strong! ✏️🎒

The Ralph Reeder Food Shelf's Good Neighbor Back to School Project is underway, and we're collecting new school supplies to help local students begin the school year feeling prepared, confident, and ready to learn.

This year, one of our greatest needs is backpacks for high school students. While supplies for younger children are often donated in abundance, backpacks suitable for teens can be much harder to come by.

Summer can be an especially difficult time for families facing food insecurity, and the need in our community remains high. That’s why we’re participating in the Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless (OYH) Summer Challenge — and we need your support.

We’d like to express our heartfelt appreciation to Help A Neighbor for the incredible work they have put into creating (and maintaining) a garden that will provide fresh produce for the Ralph Reeder Food Shelf. 🌱💚

This garden is more than just a source of nutritious food—it’s a beautiful example of neighbors coming together to care for one another. The time, energy, and dedication that went into this project will help ensure families in our community have access to fresh, healthy produce throughout the growing season.

March is Minnesota FoodShare Month — one of the most important times of the year to support local food shelves!

Throughout March, you can make an even bigger impact by donating food, making a financial gift, or simply helping spread the word. Every pound of food and every dollar donated this month helps restock our shelves after winter and ensures families in our community continue to have access to nutritious food.

We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Rey Robles Jr. of Nothing Bundt Cakes for organizing a community food drive in support of the Ralph Reeder Food Shelf!

Thanks to Rey’s leadership—and the incredible generosity of Nothing Bundt Cakes customers—over 269 pounds of food (and counting!) has already been donated to help neighbors facing food insecurity.

We're so grateful to the Shoreview/ Arden Hills Lions Club for their generosity during their MLK Community Day of Service. Through their efforts—which included packing bags of food—they donated an incredible 876 pounds to support neighbors facing food insecurity. This day of service is a powerful reflection of Dr. King’s legacy, and we’re grateful to the Lions and everyone who participated for making such a meaningful impact in our community. 💙
