Halloween Skeleton Hunt!

We heard from so many of you that you missed the Easter Egg Hunt we used to host, so we're bringing back a little of that fun with a Halloween twist!

We've hidden 6 mini plastic skeletons (totally fake!) at four locations around Mukilteo. There may be multiple skeletons at certain locations. If you find one, bring it to the Mukilteo Police Department to redeem it for a prize! Skeletons will be hidden early Halloween Morning.

Your Skeleton Hunt Clues:

1. Clue #1: Find the place where a bright beacon has guided ships safely home for generations.

2. Clue #2: Head to the park named after a number and a street. You might need to do a little counting! 90th .... 91st .... 🎃 .... 93rd ....

3. Clue #3: Look for the place where stories live, adventures begin, and books are waiting to be opened. (Hint - will be hidden outside)

4. Clue #4: Find the place where four-legged friends can run free, sniff around, and make new friends.

Please stay in public areas and don't dig, climb, or trespass.

Found one? Bring it to the Mukilteo Police Department at 10500 47th Pl W to claim your prize. Have a grown-up call our non-emergency line at 425-407-3999 when you arrive and ask for an officer.

Business Owners: Stolen Mail Alert

Early this morning, Mukilteo police officers arrested a suspect who was in possession of a large amount of stolen mail.

Much of the mail was addressed to businesses in the areas of Russell Road, Cyrus Way, and South Road.

We are asking businesses in these areas to check their mailboxes. If you believe your mail may have been stolen, please call the non-emergency line at 425-407-3999 and reference case #26-20626.

We are still sorting through the recovered mail and working to identify and contact all potential victims. We appreciate your help in getting this mail back to the people and businesses it belongs to.

Help us finish the month strong and "Cram the Cruiser" for Domestic Violence Awareness Month

This Friday, October 30, from 1–3 p.m, we’ll be at QFC collecting donations to support domestic violence survivors and their children in our community. Stop by, say hello, and help us cram the cruiser with much-needed supplies!
The items below are among the most requested by local shelters, domestic violence victim coordinators, and advocates:

Diapers and pull-ups, especially size 5 and up

New towels and linens

Underwear and socks

Personal hygiene supplies

Laundry detergent

Moving bags and duffle bags

This Pitbull was found in the area of Airport Road and Casino Road in Everett at 6pm and was brought to us this evening (10/28/26). He did not have a microchip and was transported by Rangers to the Everett Animal Shelter. If you know the owners, or are the owner of this very nice dog, Contact the Everett Animal Shelter at 425-257-6000 during business hours so we can reunite him with his family!

Every Wednesday this month, we joined Columbia Elementary School for Walktober, an initiative that encourages kids to stay active by walking to school.

We were grateful for the invitation and loved seeing our officers walk alongside so many students, build friendships, and start the school day with positive connections. Thanks to Columbia Elementary for including us in this great community effort!

And special shoutout to Hazel Beiermann for coordinating the great program.

On October 17, officers responded to a report of a possible DUI at the shopping center in the 11700 block of Mukilteo Speedway. The reporting party observed a male slumped over in the driver’s seat of a vehicle, with drug paraphernalia present.

Officers contacted the 47-year-old male, who denied any wrongdoing. Through their investigation, officers arrested him for Use of a Controlled Substance in Public. During a search incident to arrest, officers located a large amount of cash and suspected drugs, along with indications of additional contraband inside the vehicle.

Officers obtained a search warrant for the vehicle and recovered more than 42 grams of he**in, more than 18 grams of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and $2,775 in cash. The male was also charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver.

Great work by our officers in following up on the initial report, conducting a thorough investigation, and taking additional steps to recover these drugs and evidence.

We also want to thank the community member who made the call. Reporting suspicious activity can make a real difference in keeping our community safe. We appreciate everyone who looks out for their neighbors and takes the time to speak up.

Welcome to Episode 10 of the Protecting Our Community Podcast. I’m your host, Sgt. Tony Bittinger, with the Mukilteo Police Department.

In our last episode, we sat down with Tiffany Krusey, our Domestic Violence Coordinator here at Mukilteo PD. Tiffany gave us some great insight into the work she does to help victims of domestic violence and their families navigate what can often be a complicated and difficult criminal justice system.

Today, we’re joined by Yelena Stock, a prosecutor who works with the Mukilteo Police Department. Yelena brings a unique perspective to the conversation. She’s a Navy veteran, a wife, a mom, and a Latina who has built an impressive career in the legal field—from being a brand-new prosecutor to eventually becoming a co-owner of a law firm.

Yelena also opens up about her experience spending time exclusively prosecuting Domestic Violence cases and the personal toll that work took on her. With October being Domestic Violence Awareness Month, her story connects naturally with our conversation from Episode 9 and gives us another perspective on an issue that impacts so many people in our communities.

This is an open, honest, and at times very personal conversation, and I really appreciate Yelena being willing to share her experiences with us.
