🚧 Road Work Alert: Paving on Tranquil Trail and Cress Creek

Paving will continue on Tranquil Trail in Whitehall to finish the work that began earlier this week.

Crews will also be paving Cress Creek off Sheridan Road.

Please use caution around the work zones, watch for workers and equipment, and expect possible delays while paving operations are underway.

🚧 Scheduled Road Work: Week of August 31

Residents can expect to see ditching, crack seal, culvert replacements, and other maintenance taking place throughout the county.

📣 Office Hours Update

As summer comes to a close, the MCRC will return to our regular business hours beginning Monday, August 31.

🕗 Office Hours:
Monday to Thursday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Friday: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

8/26 UPDATE: Evanston Avenue is now scheduled to close Monday, August 31.

Construction signs will begin going up ahead of the closure, but the road closure will not take effect until Monday. A detour will be in place once the closure begins.

8/26 UPDATE: Paving has been canceled due to the weather. We are rescheduling for either Saturday, August 29 or Monday, August 31.

On Wednesday, August 26, a contractor will be overlaying Tranquil Trail in Fruitland Township from White Lake Drive to the south dead end.

One lane will remain open during paving operations, but motorists and residents should expect intermittent delays, particularly as crews work in front of individual driveways.

Please slow down, use caution around the work zone, and allow extra time when traveling through the area.

🚦 Traffic Signal Update for drivers in Dalton Township!

The signal at Russell Road and Riley-Thompson Road will remain in a normal red/yellow/green sequence year-round.

The signal will not be switched to flashing mode this season. Please continue to use the intersection as you normally would and follow the signal indications.

Last week, MCRC supervisors were out on the highway providing cable rail training to local fire agencies.

This type of hands-on, mutual training helps our first responders better understand how cable rail systems work, their purpose, and what to do when a vehicle becomes entangled in the cable.

Working together and sharing this knowledge helps everyone respond more safely and effectively when an incident occurs.
