Heat and Chance of Severe Thunderstorms Through Wednesday

Heat Risk Tuesday-Wednesday: Southern half of Lower Michigan away from Lake Michigan -- High temperatures around 89 to 94, humidity making the Heat Index ("feels like" in the shade) 95 to 102.

Monday Thunderstorm Chance: Isolated severe wind or hail possible north of US-10 tonight 6 PM to 3 AM.

Tuesday Thunderstorm Chance: Isolated severe storms may develop during the day, threat area mainly southern two-thirds of Lower Michigan.

Wednesday Thunderstorm Chance: Scattered severe storms possible, wind is the greatest threat, threat area mainly southern two-thirds of Lower Michigan.

Did the Spring Flood Damage Your Well or Septic System?

If your private well or septic system was damaged by the April 10–21, 2026, severe storms, tornadoes, or flooding, you may be eligible for FEMA assistance.

FEMA may help with the cost of:
- Septic system repairs or emergency septic pumping
- Repairs to damaged wells, water equipment, or water softeners
- Water testing for wells affected by floodwater
- Business losses from flooding, power outages, or damaged food and paper products
- Farm expenses such as replacing water-damaged feed or making repairs

Even if you're not sure you qualify, report the damage to FEMA. The deadline to apply is Monday, August 31, 2026, at 11:59pm

When our Air Show performers take to the sky tomorrow, they need to focus 100% on their routine, and not have to worry about external factors outside their aircraft.

That’s one reason why the FAA establishes a 5-mile Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) around the airport, from the surface to 10,000 feet. It creates a heavily protected block of airspace.

This is the TFR bubble around the airport during the flying portions of the air show this weekend. Our hometown Air Traffic Controllers will clear the airspace and vector any aircraft attempting to enter away, while the Air Boss handles performing traffic within the TFR. Inbound flights that did not check MKG’s posted NOTAMs prior to flying are diverted to alternate airports in the area.

This is just another one of the many simultaneous efforts that is underway behind the scenes while the crowd has their eyes to the sky!🛫😎
