After nearly a year, one of our asylum seekers has officially received her work permit - opening the door to stability, independence, and new opportunities. 💙

Wins like this matter even more right now. In a shifting and often uncertain policy landscape, progress can be slow, barriers higher, and outcomes harder to secure - making every step forward hard-earned and deeply meaningful.

Commissary is about more than phone calls — it’s about refusing a system that extracts labor, compliance, and silence through deprivation.

People in detention deserve real choices, dignity, and the freedom to meet their basic needs without being forced to work for crumbs.
