Last Saturday, our Roots of Strength Academy (ROSA) team joined the community at Celebración Latina at Audubon Zoo, a celebration of the rich cultures and traditions of Latin America.

ROSA is a NOLA Public Schools program designed to support recently arrived immigrant students as they transition into our schools, helping students build strong academic foundations, strengthen their English language skills and feel connected to their new school community.

Celebración Latina gave our team an opportunity to connect with families, share information about ROSA and celebrate alongside the communities we serve. From live music and dancing to food and cultural experiences throughout the Zoo, it was a beautiful celebration of the cultures that make New Orleans so special.

As we continue celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, NOLA-PS is proud to recognize the cultures, stories and contributions of our Hispanic and Latino students, families and communities. 💙

Thank you to Audubon Zoo for bringing our community together for such a wonderful celebration!

We started Attendance Awareness Month strong, and we’re keeping the momentum going! ✨

This September, NOLA Public Schools is encouraging students and families to Strive for 95 because every day in school is another opportunity to learn, connect and grow.

Our goal is a 95% attendance rate across NOLA-PS, and showing up consistently helps students stay connected to classroom instruction, build strong relationships and make the most of every opportunity school has to offer.

⚖️ Bringing the Constitution out of the textbook!

In celebration of Constitution Day, New Orleans Juvenile Court Judge Candice Anderson visited Ben Franklin High School to talk with high school seniors about the U.S. Constitution, the judicial system, and what those rights and responsibilities look like beyond the classroom.

Observed each year on September 17, Constitution Day commemorates the signing of the U.S. Constitution in 1787 and encourages students to learn more about citizenship and civic life.

Thank you, Judge Anderson, for spending the day with our students and giving our future voters, leaders, advocates, and changemakers a firsthand look at civics in action! 🗳️📚

Last night, NOLA Public Schools was proud to join Mayor Helena Moreno and The City Of NOLA for the latest City Town Hall at Phyllis Wheatley Community School.

Superintendent Dr. Fateama Fulmore connected with residents and shared updates on the work underway across NOLA-PS to support our students, schools, and families.

New Orleans City Councilmembers Freddie King III and Jean-Paul Morrell were also in attendance to hear directly from New Orleanians on their ideas, concerns, and questions about the future of our city.

Thank you to Mayor Moreno, Councilmembers King and Morrell, the City of New Orleans leadership, and everyone who came out to connect and be part of the conversation. We are grateful for the continued partnership and shared commitment to New Orleans students and families.
