Trecenia C. Lewis, Supervisor of the Bookkeeping Department, shares important information about unclaimed funds and how residents can determine whether funds may be owed to them.

The Civil Division of the Orleans Parish Clerk of Civil District Court helps residents navigate the civil filing process.

Civil Division Supervisor Kim Livingston explains what you need to know before filing, where to go, and how the team, under Clerk of Court Chelsey Richard Napoleon’s leadership, is working to make services more accessible, including first-floor filing services and courtesy case notifications.

Our last Senior Summer Tour of the season was such a treat for our seniors. Dr. Ina Fandrich of our Notarial Archives Research Center lead the way through the history most people never hear.

“Everything is dynamite. I’m so glad I did not miss this event.”

That is exactly why we do this. We aim to give our seniors a summer outing that is engaging & informative.

Thank you to the New Orleans Council on Aging and the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office for partnering with us all summer.

Since taking office, Clerk Chelsey Richard Napoleon has been reviewing operations across the Clerk’s Office to ensure processes comply with the law and reflect best practices.

One area of focus is the appeals process. After concerns were raised about documentation being sent to the appellate court, Clerk Napoleon reviewed the process, verified legal compliance and is now identifying opportunities for improvement.

The work continues as each area of the office is assessed for compliance, efficiency and effectiveness.

The Senior Summer Tour is all about bringing our seniors together for connection, conversation, and community, while giving them a chance to get out of the summer heat and enjoy time together in a cool, comfortable environment.

It was great to welcome seniors from across Orleans Parish as we highlighted Jackson Square, Jax Brewery, and Café Du Monde.

Thank you to Martin Huber and Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office for partnering with us to make the Senior Summer Tour possible.

What a morning!

The Clerk’s Office was on the ground Saturday at the Dryades YMCA for the Housing Resource Fair and School Supply Giveaway. Our team spent the morning doing what we do best: helping people get answers.

Residents stopped by to ask questions, and our staff walked them through our services & resources. This is what community access looks like.

Families also left with backpacks and school supplies, health screenings, immunization record checks, and connections to housing and legal resources from dozens of partner organizations.

Thank you to Councilmember Lesli Harris, the Dryades YMCA, and every partner who showed up for our neighbors.

The Clerk’s Office belongs to the people of Orleans Parish. We will keep showing up where you are.
