I testified today before the Louisiana State Senate to make one thing very clear: Louisiana needs two majority-minority districts. Math is math, and I will not allow the voices of Black voters in our state to be silenced.

Please join me TODAY, May 8, 2026 at the Louisiana State Capitol as we make our voices heard. TODAY 9:00am Baton Rouge.

Your vote matters, your voice matters... we will not go back!

Today’s ruling in Louisiana v. Callais is a devastating blow to the promise of equal representation in our democracy. This decision will embolden efforts to dismantle majority-Black districts and fracture communities that have finally begun to see themselves reflected in their government. The fight is not over. I’ll continue to work in Congress and with our communities to restore the protections of the Voting Rights Act and defend the fundamental right to vote. SB 256 Does NOT represent our democracy!

No on any bill that seeks to abolish an office before a duly elected official is even sworn in. The people have already spoken. To undo their will is to undermine our democracy. What’s happening to Calvin Duncan is unconscionable and undemocratic.

Today I was honored to speak before the Democratic Leadership at the General Session of the Democratic National Committee Spring Meeting in New Orleans.

“The south is where some of the greatest struggles for justice for American history were fought!” “There is legislation making its way through the Capitol to take away elective offices where people were duly elected by the people!” “We don’t always have the votes, but we always have our voice!”

Join me in spreading the word, “we cannot support Un-American Acts!”

A special thank you to all who stand behind the badge to ensure that we are safe. No one can imagine the sacrifices that not only the officer but the family makes when a loved one works in law enforcement. I pray nothing but blessings over each and one of your lives. - TC
