CYBER SECURITY
Each digital system is brought with new and serious security risks.
In the past, simpler methods, simple goals, and cyber attacks by individuals of certain competence have now begun to become automated, more frequent, complex, destructive, and goal-oriented at the state level.
The use of technology for more intelligent and effective attacks with the big data supported artificial intelligence algorithms of the elements planning cyber attack has increased the importance of cyber security.
Cyber threats that changed size and character have now turned into cyber war, making critical service infrastructures and systems a cyber target. This situation requires countries to protect their data and digital infrastructures just like their borders.
Accordingly, cyber security is an integral and most important component of national security for countries as the fifth operational area after land, sea, air and space.
Communication systems and infrastructure, intelligent networks, electricity, water, natural gas, transportation systems, dams, e-commerce, banking systems and infrastructure, such as digital Turkey applications, systems and services that are partially or totally disabled, the social order to disrupt national security and the it has the potential to endanger.
For this reason, there is a need for protection of critical infrastructures more than ever. One of our main objectives is to protect these infrastructures against possible cyber attacks and to minimize the damage and risks that may arise from these attacks.
With the power of innovative digital technologies, we have started our efforts to develop smarter and deterrent methods against new generation smart attacks. It should be noted that trying to provide cyber security with foreign solutions is equivalent to entrusting border security to foreign soldiers.
The way to deter cyber security is to apply correct strategies and policies in this field, to develop national products and solutions equivalent to existing technologies, to increase the number of cyber security experts at all levels, and to identify weakness areas early with new analysis methods. In addition to combating technological risks, increasing training and awareness activities towards the human dimension of security is the most critical factor.
As the Digital Transformation Office, we are carrying out efforts to expand the local and national technologies that we support in this field, in cooperation with universities, industry, the private sector and NGOs, in all sectors, especially the public sector. We are working to create an internationally competitive ecosystem in the field of cyber security, in which all these stakeholders competently manage risks in cyberspace in cooperation.
