The Art of Rage | by REBECCA MOMOLI “APOTROPAIC MEAL AGAINST F*MICIDE - NOT ONE LESS is a communal meal, a cathartic action, a transformative gathering.
TW: f*micide
Eating is a daily act of nourishment, never separate from political implications.
Apotropaic action has the power to ward off, exorcise, and transform evil.
Femicide is a gender-based crime, an extreme expression of patriarchal, heteronormative, and male domination: it is the act of annihilation carried out against a woman because she is a woman. Whoever commits it acts according to a logic of possession, control, and erasure of female subjectivity.
This project invites a community to come together to name, cook, and eat the names of those who have committed these acts, and at the same time, to remember and make visible the names of the women who are no longer with us.
The meal holds two gestures together: devouring those who destroyed, and honoring those who were erased.
Born from the urgency of responding to systemic violence against women, this action does not claim to offer solutions to the global emergency, but confronts, viscerally, the collective need to metabolize trauma, opening up a form of creative, feminist justice.
The first APOTROPAIC MEAL AGAINST FEMICIDE took place in Milan on July 6, 2025.“

The Art of Rage | by R E N A T A B U Z Z O “WHY TALK ABOUT SUCH A HEAVY TOPIC? After all, should Fashion be light, escapist, and shallow, or does it inherently speak about current ways of life and behavior?
Data from the 2025 Annual Socioeconomic Report on Women (Raseam), released by the Ministry of Women on 03/25 in Brasília, shows that in 2024, 1,450 femicides and 2,485 intentional homicides of women and cases of bodily harm resulting in death were recorded.
These figures represent a 5.07% decrease across all cases of lethal violence against women compared to 2023 records, when 1,438 femicide cases and another 2,707 cases of intentional homicide and bodily harm resulting in death were counted.
Also regarding forms of violence against women, the annual report shows that Brazil recorded the equivalent of 196 r**es per day in 2024, totaling 71,892 cases of r**e against women over the past year. Despite the high number of recorded cases, there was a 1.44% decrease compared to 2023.
The Minister of Women, Cida Gonçalves, explains that the decline in gender violence numbers reflects the efforts of public policies, the national mobilization for zero femicide, national debates, and a shift in behavior regarding when to intervene in cases of violence.
“This means that someone is intervening before the act happens, that someone is taking initiative. That’s what we need: a society that does not stay silent, that doesn’t say this is only the State’s responsibility. It is primarily the State’s responsibility, but it is the role of all of society to intervene, to call, to guide, and to TALK ABOUT IT!”
According to records from the Ministry of Health’s Notifiable Health Conditions Information System (Sinan/MS), in cases of violence against adult women (ages 2 to 59), 60.4% were against Black and mixed-race women, while 37.5% were against white women. According to the Ministry of Women, the data highlights the overlapping vulnerabilities faced by Black women.
In 76.6% of records of domestic, s*xual, and/or other violence against women, the aggressor is male.

The Art of Rage | by Katja Jungwirth “The Wall of Shame
Small sentences, collected over time.
Things we hear as kids... what to do, how to behave (better), how to fit in.
Said casually, repeated often, and somehow...they stay.
I started turning them into these daily collages, placing them next to each other, watching them grow into a wall piece.
Looking at them like this, it feels both personal and not...
like these words don’t just belong to me.
Maybe you recognize some of them?
Maybe you carry your own?
It you want to...
I’d really like to hear them.”

Oil and acrylic paint on canvas
Today is Jojo’s birthday - the beautiful model for this painting, the one who inspired the idea, and my best friend.
She is not naked and s*xualized. She is dressed and in control of the situation herself. She takes ownership of her body, herself, and the situation, and goes her own way - regardless of what others might think.
Just because I painted this picture doesn’t mean I hate men. Quite the opposite: I have the greatest man of all sitting at home - someone who doesn’t care about traditional gender roles and gives me a real sense of equality. That’s exactly why I know it’s possible.
At the same time, though, I also believe that this isn’t yet a reality everywhere. Of course, we no longer live in the year 1918, and I’m aware of how far we’ve come as a society. Still, the disregard for women’s rights and their lack of safety are unfortunately still current issues.
And just because one group gains rights that were previously denied to them doesn’t mean another group loses rights as a result. Anything else ultimately just serves to preserve existing power structures - because men do not suffer structurally under women.
AI also reproduces existing s*xist structures in our system, because it’s trained on data that already contains these inequalities. For example, in hiring processes women were filtered out because the AI had “learned” that men had been hired more often previously.
A quote from Nina Menkes I find particularly fitting on this topic:
“We were taught what s*x is, what time is, even what supposedly man and woman are. All of that was taught to us. And if you simply accept that, you remain trapped in a collective consciousness that tends to exist at a fairly low level.”
