Patient Voices: Save 340B
If you had the chance to tell Governor Andrew Cuomo, NYSDOH - New York State Health Department, and state leaders why they should #Save340B - what would you say? We asked that question during Wednesday's "Patient Voices" panel during our virtual Statewide Advocacy Week. Community Health Center of Buffalo, Inc. patient turned nurse and advocate Trinetta Alston says the answer is simple: stop cutting from the bottom. #DontCutTheNet #ValueCHCs
CHC Patient Voices
Community Health Centers care for everyone - regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay. They do this work in part with help from savings generated by the #340B program - a program the state is currently trying to take away form CHCs and other safety net providers.
During this year's first ever all virtual Statewide Advocacy Week, CHCANYS hosted a patient panel and asked CHC patients from across the state to explain, in their own words, why their Community Health Center is SO important to them. The stories they told brought us to tears - and filled us with hope.
We share their stories in the hopes they will open the minds and hearts of all who hear them to the fact that health care is a basic human RIGHT not a PRIVILEGE and EVERYONE deserves high quality comprehensive care that serves the whole person. Thank you to all of the patients who were willing to tell their stories.
PLEASE SHARE!
