🦌🏹 A WHOLE LOT OF YEARS AND A WHOLE LOT OF MEMORIES IN THIS ROOM!

Taking you around and showing off some of the whitetail racks and bucks we’ve collected over the years. Every set of antlers has a story behind it—and that’s one of my favorite things about keeping them.

It’s not just about the size of the rack. You can look at one of these deer years later and remember the hunt, the property, the people you were with and exactly what happened that day.

There are a LOT of antlers in this room! 😂🦌

Which buck catches YOUR eye the most? And do you keep the racks from the deer you’ve harvested? 👇

🌅✝️ SOMETIMES YOU JUST HAVE TO STOP AND LOOK AROUND.

I was admiring this beautiful sunset and all the colors coming through the clouds. I even said in the video, “It looks better in person.”

Then I pan the camera over and notice the electric pole standing against that sky—and from where I was looking, it reminded me of a cross. ✝️🙏

Maybe it was just an electric pole, but it made an already beautiful sunset feel a little more special to me.

🍄👀 MUSHROOM EXPERTS — WHAT KIND IS THIS?

Found this mushroom while I was out on the property and had to stop for a closer look.

Anybody know what kind of mushroom this is? 🍄 Drop your answer in the comments! 👇

🦌👀 TWO DEER BEDS RIGHT BESIDE OUR NEW STAND!

We just put this tree stand up, and now I’m finding at least two beds really close to the setup. There were signs of more bedding around, too.

My first thought is these could be doe beds, especially with multiple beds together and good food nearby—but I could be wrong. That’s why I’m going to keep watching the sign instead of assuming.

They’ve got white-oak acorns dropping nearby and the bean field close, so there’s plenty of reason for deer to bed in this area. 🌳🌱

The biggest thing now is BE CAREFUL. If deer are bedding this close to the stand, our entrance, exit, wind and thermals become even more important. We don’t want to educate them before it’s time to hunt. 🏹

What do you think—doe bedding area or something else? 👇

🌱🌧️ NO W**D KILLER — AND LOOK HOW GREEN THIS FOOD PLOT IS!

Take a look at this plot! We didn’t use any w**d killer on it, and I’m pretty happy with how green and healthy it’s looking. 🦌🌱

We’ve got some rain coming, so we’re taking advantage of the timing and putting down some additional seed right before the rain to help fill in the thinner areas and give us another filler crop.

Sometimes food-plot management is about watching the weather and taking advantage of the opportunity Mother Nature gives you. 🌧️

And we’re continuing to experiment with ways to grow productive food plots without relying on herbicides.

Who else likes getting seed down right before a good rain? 👇

🌱🦌 FROM WOODS AND CLAY TO THIS — AND LOOK CLOSE… WHERE ARE THE W**DS?

We call this The Clay Plot for a reason! This entire area used to be woods, and when we cleared it and dug the stumps out, we found nothing but clay underneath.

Now look at it! 👀🌱 We’ve got sorghum growing tall, with a mixture of other food-plot plants growing underneath it.

But here’s what I REALLY want you to notice: LOOK FOR THE W**DS. There aren’t many to find!

We don’t like using herbicide unless we have to, so we’ve been working on a method of establishing and maintaining these food plots without relying on w**d killer. I’m going to keep showing you exactly what we’re doing and how these plots respond.

Going from wooded clay ground to a growing food plot like this takes some work—but that’s what makes it fun! 💪🦌

🌾🦌 K3 — KILL PLOT #3 IS READY!

Showing off K3, my third kill plot, and this one is planted in oats. Then I take you over to the pop-up blind that we’ve got brushed in and blended into the surroundings. 👀🏹

But what really makes this setup interesting is the terrain. I describe this spot like a big thermal bathtub. Just like water finds the low spot and drains out of a tub, I’m paying attention to how the cooling evening air moves down through this valley.

With the northwest wind I’m looking for, the plan is for the wind and falling evening thermals to help carry my scent down toward the lower drainage instead of into the areas I’m expecting deer to use.

Oats planted. Blind brushed in. Access planned. Now we wait for the right conditions. 🦌🔥

Deer hunters—do you pay as much attention to thermals as you do the wind forecast? 👇

🦌💧 THE DEER ARE HAMMERING THIS WATER HOLE!

Remember the little water hole we put in? Well, the deer have already found it and they’re using it! 👀

And look at what they’ve got surrounding it—persimmons are falling, the red-oak acorns are dropping, and they’ve got water all right here in the same area. 🌳💧

The deer are absolutely hammering this spot, and that’s exactly what we were hoping would happen!

Food + water + cover = giving those deer another reason to stick around. 🦌🔥

Would you put a stand close to this setup? 👇

🚜💦 ANOTHER WATER HOLE GOING IN FOR THE DEER!

Wild Terrain Landscaping is back at it, putting the equipment to work and digging out another wildlife water hole on the property! 🦌

We’re continuing to add pieces to this habitat—food, cover, better access and now more water. It’s all part of giving the deer more reasons to spend time right here.

🌲🦌 THE 5-YEAR TRANSFORMATION IS UNDERWAY — 435 TREES!

Here we are in the middle of this intensive five-year habitat project, with 435 trees marked for the logging project. 🌳

I’m showing you around so you can see what’s happening as that canopy starts opening up. The big thing I’m looking forward to is SUNLIGHT finally reaching the forest floor! ☀️🌱

That sunlight can encourage new vegetation, woody browse and thicker cover—and we’re going to watch how the deer respond as this property changes year after year.

Year 1… Year 2… Year 3… all the way through Year 5. I’m documenting it so you can see the transformation right along with me.

Remember what this ground looks like now, because I think it’s going to look completely different! 🔥🦌

Follow Food Plot Ninja and stick around for the entire five-year project!
