8/28/26 Great news! Benny is safe. His family followed all the protocols. Seen hiding in a shed, they sat down on the ground back towards him, car door open and gently called his name. After a few minutes he recognized the voice and jumped in the car. Welcome home Benny! huge thank you to NK animal control and to the good Samaritans who called in the sightings

*Loose Dog*
Benny has been missing since 1pm today 8/27 at the Chaffee Preserve at Rome Point on Boston Neck Road. He is nervous and will run. Please don’t chase, but ok to call out his name and hopefully he’ll respond to treats or peanut butter.
He was last seen at roughly 2:30pm

Owners and Animal Control are currently out looking for him.

Does anyone recognize this cat??
It’s been hanging around the Jacalyn Road area of Saunderstown for roughly 6 weeks. Male with a collar on with a tracker device attached. The device is not activated at this time.
If anyone has any information, please call #295-5579. We do not currently have this cat in custody.

Female, no micro chip from Davisville Road.

UPDATE: No microchip found but we will check again when kitty relaxes a little bit.
Cat found today on Davisville Rd at Old Baptist Rd. No collar and not sure if female or male. Please contact NKPD at 401-294-3316 if this cutie is yours or if you have any information about this cat.

We are looking for a dog, possibly a long hair black lab type breed that was at Gooseneck Vineyards on Friday 8/14 in the afternoon. The doggie was involved in an incident with a small child and we are looking for its rabies vaccine information.

*Mount View Area*
Does anyone recognize this kitty?!? Found on Highbank Ave. It has been hanging around since the winter. The cat appears to be in good health and is ear tipped. It was caught by a Good Samaritan but released by Animal Control. We are just looking for the owners.

Sol is missing from the Shore Acres neighborhood since Sunday, 8/2. She is a 5 year old, female spayed, black cat with green eyes. She is microchiped.

*Stray cat found*
This cat was found hanging around the Highbank Ave area of Mount View. It has been reportedly hanging around for many months. Ten Lives Cat Rescue was able to assist and trap the cat. Gray and white, DSH, with no collar, no tag. If anyone has any information, please call #295-5579.

*UPDATE: REUNITED with owner!!*
Gemma has made her way into NK. Last seen on Charter Oak Court today 7/29 (off of North Quidnessett) If anyone sees her, please call the numbers below or NK Animal Control at #295-5579

7/29/26 UPDATE: After a five-day journey and being seen many times on our trail cams, we finally were able to pinpoint Gemma's location thanks to a call from a good Samaritan. We put the resident dog in the woods on a long lead and opened up the hatchback to the car, and out came Gemma. She jumped into the back of the car like she was ready to go home. Thank you to everyone who was vigilant and called in their sightings!
