Last night, NKPD met with a local Girl Scout troop at 80 Boston Neck Road as they worked toward earning their Community Badge.

While speaking with the troop, Officer Beneduce spotted Josie in the crowd and knew exactly what had to happen. A quick phone call later, Officer Estrada, NKPD's newest female officer, was on her way.

The funny part? Before Officer Estrada could even introduce herself, Josie was already running over for a photo.

We're beginning to think Josie may be keeping a list of every female NKPD officer. 📸👮‍♀️

Thank you to the Girl Scouts! We had a great time and loved seeing everyone's enthusiasm!

Last week, on May 26, 2026, the North Kingstown Police Department gathered with family, friends, town officials, and community members to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of our officers and celebrate important milestones within our department.

The ceremony included the promotion of Lieutenant Timothy Daly and Sergeant Nicholas Fortin, recognition of Sergeant Fortin as the department's Officer of the Year, and Division Commendations presented to Officer Andrew Pluta, Detective Sean Grimes, and Officer Cyress-Luis Harrison. We also had the honor of swearing in our newest officer, Officer Hasel Estrada.

Sergeant Fortin's recognition as Officer of the Year reflects his unwavering dedication, professionalism, leadership, and commitment to serving the residents of North Kingstown. We congratulate him on this well-deserved honor and thank him for his continued service to our community.

Today, we remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their sacrifice is the reason we enjoy the freedoms we often take for granted. Memorial Day is more than a long weekend. It is a time to reflect, remember, and pay tribute to those who never made it home.

From all of us at the North Kingstown Police Department, we extend our deepest gratitude to our fallen heroes and to the families who carry their legacy every day.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

🎣 Not a bad person to run into on the water…

A couple of our officers had the chance to meet former New England Patriots linebacker, Tedy Bruschi, while he was out fishing in North Kingstown yesterday.

Down to earth, friendly, and representing New England just as well off the field as he did on it. Thanks for taking the time to chat, Tedy, and hopefully the fish cooperated. 🎣
