Harris Elementary is a public school located in North Little Rock and serves students in Pre-K-5. This page is managed and reviewed by PCSSD.

🎶🎤 Rock Your School: Learning Through Music! 🎸🎵

(Part 3)
Today, our classrooms rocked learning by combining music, creativity, and AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination)! Students and Staff dressed as their favorite musical artists or represented their favorite music genres while engaging in exciting, hands-on learning activities. Also we Teamed up against Drugs and wore our Jerseys.

📀 Learning Highlights:
Album Tracks: Students analyzed texts and extracted key information to write summary sentences, turning their learning into creative album tracks.
Four Corners: Students explored the moods and emotions of songs, sharing their thoughts and supporting their choices.
Instrument Exploration: Students used their creativity and critical-thinking skills to explore how musical instruments can be made.

Our students showed that learning can be meaningful, engaging, and fun when we bring music into the classroom! We’re proud of our rock stars for thinking critically, collaborating, and making learning their own. 🌟🎶

It's Fall Festival time at Harris Elementary! 🎉

Our Fall Festival is happening this Friday, October 30th, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.!

We are excited and looking forward to an evening filled with fun, games, laughter, and unforgettable memories! We need everyone's support to help make this event a HUGE success for our students!

🎟️ Wristbands are just $8.00 when purchased before Friday and $10.00 on Friday!

So, grab your wristbands, bring your family and friends, and come out for an evening of fun while supporting Harris Elementary!

Let's show our Panther Pride! Together, we can make this a wonderful and memorable evening for our students and families!

It's Rock Your School Day, so we're switching things up! Instead of wearing your favorite team jersey, dress to represent your FAVORITE MUSIC GENRE! 🎶 Whether it's country, rock, pop, hip-hop, or something else, let's ROCK our school while making drug-free choices! 🎵🤘

We're wrapping up the week in our wackiest, tackiest outfits as we show that being drug-free is always in style!

Every child deserves to get to and from school safely. As we recognize National School Bus Safety Week, remember you are an important part of the total safety awareness program for students who travel to and from school by bus — not just this week, but every day.
🚸 Observe these important safety tips:
👀 Watch for children near bus stops, along roadways and when crossing the street.
🛑 Stop when a school bus has its red lights flashing and stop arm extended.
📵 Stay focused and avoid distractions while driving.
🐢 Slow down in school zones and residential areas where children may be present.

Today, we wore orange to celebrate World Unity Day, a day dedicated to standing together against bullying and promoting kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.

Together, we celebrate the many cultures, backgrounds, and personalities that make our school community so special.

Every student deserves to feel valued, included, respected, and appreciated for who they are. By spreading kindness, embracing our differences, and standing up against bullying, we can create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.
