Despite the rain, those who attended enjoyed an informative and educational visit to Franklin Reformed Church, filled with 175 years of history and a massive display of pictures and memorabilia.

Invites Residents to a
Grandma/Grandpa & Me Pumpkin Painting Party

Commissioner Mauro G. Tucci and the Department of Parks and Recreation are pleased to invite grandparents and their little pumpkins to a special Halloween Pumpkin Painting Party on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.

“As grandparents nothing is more treasured and valued than the love of our grandchildren. We don’t just sponsor programs here in Nutley, we create memories that will last a lifetime” stated Commissioner Tucci.

This event will be held at the Parks and Recreation Department, located at 44 Park Ave from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The evening will include light refreshments, a pumpkin and paint for each child. The fee for this special event is $5.00 per child; grandparents are admitted free! Limit 2 adults per child. Children must live in Nutley to participate.

To purchase tickets for this exciting event, please visit the Parks and Recreation Department Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Please Schedule Your Next Life-Giving Donation NOW!

Mayor John V. Kelly and the Nutley Department of Public Affairs are pleased to partner with Vitalant Blood Services of New Jersey to conduct a Nutley Community Blood Drive on Monday, September 21, 2026. If you would like to schedule an appointment, please click on the following link: Vitalant New Jersey Donor Link and scroll down to the date above, or call (877) 258-4825. Use blood drive code: CODE

The drive will be held at the Department of Public Affairs and Health – 149 Chestnut Street from 3:00pm – 7:00pm. Appointments are strongly recommended, although walk-ins are accepted.

Donor Guidelines:

Do not donate if you are sick.
Weigh at least 110lbs
Bring ID
Eat a meal before donation.
Drink plenty of water before and after
New Jersey on a whole is experiencing critically low donation numbers. There is an urgent need for Type O Negative, O Positive & B Negative Blood Types, but all types are welcome and needed!

Due to weather concerns, the Sunday September 20 Nutley Farmers Market is canceled. The History Walk is still scheduled to take place, but will start at Franklin Reformed Church at 9am (go to the office door on the cemetery side to enter). 🍎 On Sunday September 20 9am-2pm, join us at our downtown location on Booth Drive for the 15th market of our 17th season, which runs through October 25, 2026!

⛪ Meet at the Market at 9am (in front of the library) for a special History Walk to Franklin Reformed Church, Nutley NJ with John Demmer, Town Historian of Nutley, author David Wilson, and FRC historian Jeff Grieco! You'll visit the historic cemetery where many Nutley notables are buried, then into the buildings rich with history and stories. Learn about this religious and recreational facility that has been the center of life since 1855. This two-hour tour is amplified and takes an ADA route.
