Today is Juneteenth! While it has been an official federal holiday since 2021, recent attempts by the current administration to erase it by removing it from National Park free days, reminds us that preserving history is an active fight. Juneteenth is a vital reminder to celebrate Black freedom, culture, and resilience, while recognizing that the fight for equality is far from over.
As we honor our history today, we reflect on the powerful words of the leaders who paved the way. Despite every obstacle, generations before us built this country and taught us that progress is always possible when we organize, speak out, and show up.
