Oklahoma City is set to add significant new aerospace and defense production capacity near Tinker Air Force Base.

KIHOMAC plans to invest $25 million in a roughly 130,000-square-foot facility, more than 10 times the size of its current Oklahoma City operation. The expansion is expected to create more than 100 jobs, with groundbreaking targeted for 2027 and an opening planned for 2028.

The new facility will increase KIHOMAC’s capabilities in metalwork, composites and CNC machining while adding an in-house circuit-board production line. The company currently outsources that work and says bringing it under its own roof will provide greater control over production schedules and help address supply-chain constraints.

KIHOMAC supports military aircraft and other defense systems through engineering, fabrication, sustainment and lifecycle services. Expanding those capabilities close to Tinker adds another layer of advanced manufacturing capacity to Oklahoma City’s growing aerospace and defense industrial base.

DYK? Oklahoma's aero/defense industry accounts for $5.71 billion in exports annually. Today's Feelgood Friday story is aimed at those Oklahoma companies that wish to develop their export business, as the SBA has recently awarded the Oklahoma Department of Commerce State Trade Expansion Program (STEP) funding.

Applications are being accepted from eligible Oklahoma companies seeking STEP funds for exporting activities, including participation in foreign trade missions, export trade show exhibits and training workshops.

NASA astronaut and U.S. Navy Capt. Victor J. Glover Jr. will keynote the 2026 Oklahoma Aerospace Forum.

Glover has spent 178 days in space across two missions, most recently piloting Artemis II on its historic journey around the moon this spring.

Many leaders in space exploration will take the stage in Oklahoma City on October 8.

It was a great show for Oklahoma at the Air & Space Forces Association's Air, Space & Cyber Conference last week. Our state features the largest sustainment machine in the Air Force and a strong military presence, and is organizing the rest of the state around the space version of that same job in concert with existing assets like the Infinity One Oklahoma Spaceport. The show also featured KIHOMAC, Inc.'s exciting announcement of their $25 million expansion in OKC!
