In 1974, President Gerald Ford authorized EMS Week™ to celebrate EMS professionals and the important work they do in our nation's communities. National Emergency Medical Services Week brings together local communities and medical personnel to honor the dedication of those who provide the day-to-day lifesaving services of medicine's frontline. On Monday we were excited to host BOCC Chairman Kelly and four other District Commissioners to present the EMS Week proclamation to Chief Colman.

✅ Enroll in age-appropriate swim lessons.

MED-ACT was proud to support our neighbors in Miami County last night when a devastating storm moved through. MED-ACT deployed four Disaster Medical Specialists and associated equipment as a part of Kansas Task Force 3, and five ambulances as part of a regional mutual aid request. Today marks the start of a new deployment model for our Impact ambulances. Thanks to the support of the BOCC, we are expanding the 3 peak demand ambulances from 8 hours/5 days a week to 12 hours/7 days a week. This equates to 132 additional hours of ambulance coverage per week for the residents of Johnson County.
