“My time at Central was full of opportunities, memorable moments, and making lifelong friendships. Central has a great community and atmosphere for both learning and meeting new people! At Central my interest in science was cultivated by amazing teachers like Ms. Preston, Mr. Vasa, Ms. Luokkala, and many others. I'm forever grateful for the opportunity to have attended Central, and especially the AP classes. Without inspiring AP teachers like Ms. Wiksell, Ms. Porter, Mr. Forke, Mr. Boyer and others I would have not received the well-rounded education or skill set to succeed in what comes after leaving the nest. In the fall I will be attending the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, majoring in Environmental Studies with hopes of going into research or conservation!"

Introducing a 2026 recipient of our Paul Jepsen (1929) Scholarship, Claudia! 🦅

“This fall, I will be attending Smith College, where I plan to major in neuroscience on the pre-med track.

When I think about what Central means to me, I think of a place where I discovered and developed many of my passions, from healthcare to service. It is also a place where I met people from diverse backgrounds who I hope will remain lifelong friends.

I would like to thank Mr. Flanagan for making English more than just a class, Mr. Wilson for giving history a personality, and Ms. Denton for her constant support and encouragement. I am also grateful to Mr. Forke for sparking my interest in anthropology and encouraging thoughtful debates, Ms. Stastny for her remarkable ability to quote Hamlet from memory, Mr. Franta for creating an after-school gaming community where students could connect, Mr. Morley for his support of HOSA, Mr. Tigani being the chillest math teacher ever, and Ms. Mulder for supporting Quiz Bowl and helping create a space for students to challenge themselves and have fun.

I am incredibly grateful for the impact each of these teachers had on my experience. Their passion, encouragement, and dedication helped shape my time at Central and made it a place I will always look back on fondly.”
