A total of 247 students have been awarded the Nebraska Seal of Biliteracy in the August 2026 cycle, recognizing their proficiency in English and another language. This achievement reflects dedication, perseverance, and the growing commitment of Nebraska schools, families, and communities to language learning.

“To me, Central was a community where students of all walks of life came together to grow as individuals, artists, and scholars. I really believe without the amazing community at CHS including such musician mentors as Mr. Bouma, Mrs. Cowan, and Mr. Rauch that I wouldn’t be where I am today studying chemistry and viola performance at Carnegie Mellon University.”

Mr Raffety’s International Baccalaureate Social Cultural Anthropology class visited UNO today to conduct anthropological field studies, observing UNO students to draw conclusions about key academic concepts such as materiality, symbolism, and social relations. Students were joined by Central’s Primary Anthropology Instructor Mr. Smith.

"I will be attending the University of Nebraska- Lincoln this fall, there I plan to major in Secondary Education with a focus in Biology.
First I want to send my appreciation to all of the teachers and staff at Central who encouraged me to achieve more and inspired me to pursue education as a career.
Centrals warm environment encouraged me to express my culture and explore my own identity, I will always be thankful for the diverse community of people I found.
A special thanks to Mrs. Todalen for always lifting my spirits, Dr. CFC who always seemed to be there at the right time, Mr. Ganley who encouraged me to be myself more and Mrs. Kawecki who was always there with support and care for all who needed her."

Central means a lot to me as I met many of my friends there and had amazing classes that helped me learn what I want to do with my Career.
