We are excited to announce that we are now accepting applications for Police Officer and Lateral Transfer Police Officer positions, now through May 22, 2026.

Current Contractual Base Wage Rates:
July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026: $77,521.60 to $91,728.00
July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027: $80,225.60 to $94,931.20

*In addition to our competitive base wage, we have plentiful voluntary overtime and off-duty project opportunities available.

We also have a very robust benefits package, including excellent Medical Insurance, Dental and Vision Insurance, Paid Holidays, Vacation, Sick Leave Accrual, Sick Leave Bonus, Comp time, longevity pay, paid time off for use of our Fitness Center, and many other benefits.

Another great benefit: the Oregon Police Division participates in the Ohio Police and Fire Pension Fund which allows members to retire as early as 52 years of age with 25 years or more of active service.
We are also excited to share that we recently updated the hiring process to increase the number of applicants by:

• Allowing Lateral Transfers and state certified Peace Officers, Police Officers, Troopers, or equivalent to apply directly WITHOUT being required to take a written or physical fitness test.

• Allowing Lateral Transfer candidates, the ability to receive prior service credits which allow the candidate to start at a higher pay step and vacation accrual rate than a standard new hire.

• Allowing candidates with current or prior military service and/or state law enforcement certification to apply WITHOUT requiring prior college credits.

• Raising the maximum age from 34 years of age to 40 years of age (candidates must not have attained the age of 41 prior to original appointment to the police division)

May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚

The Oregon Police Division wants to remind our community that mental health is just as important as physical health. Every day, we see firsthand how important it is to check in on one another, offer support, and show compassion.

If you or someone you know is struggling, you are not alone. Help is available, and reaching out is a sign of strength—not weakness. Whether it’s a friend, family member, co-worker, or a trained professional, talking to someone can make a difference.

Let’s work together to break the stigma surrounding mental health and build a stronger, more supportive community for all, especially here in The City of Oregon.

If you need immediate assistance, please call the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline by dialing or texting 988.

💚 Check in.
💚 Listen.
💚 Support one another.
