*****ROAD BACK OPEN***** Thanks to Osage County, KS Sheriff's Office, Osage County Fire District #4 Overbrook/Michigan Valley and Brown's Super Service Inc. for their assistance.

All traffic is currently stopped at the intersection of E. 8th St. and Lakeshore Ln. due to a semi having engine trouble. A tow truck is en route. Please avoid the area until further notice.

FOUND SAFE - STATEWIDE SILVER ALERT CANCELED

The Anderson County Sheriff's Office reported to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) that Dale Leach, 76, was located safe Thursday morning.

The Statewide Silver Alert is now canceled.

The Anderson County Sheriff's Office requested the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) issue a statewide Silver Alert for a missing McPherson man.

The whereabouts of 76-year-old Dale Leach are unknown and the public’s assistance is requested to help locate him.

Leach is likely driving a white 2011 Dodge Dakota bearing Kansas tag 1163AES, and was believed to be in Missouri and Arkansas. He was last seen driving southbound on Highway 69 towards Pittsburg, Kansas, at around 5:45 p.m. on May 27.

Leach is a white male who is around 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs approximately 230 pounds. He has gray hair, and blue eyes. Leach is known to have dementia.

If you see Dale Leach, or his vehicle, please call 911 immediately. If you have other information about his whereabouts, please call the Anderson County Sheriff's Office at (785) 448-5428.

On May 24th, 2026 at approximately 5:01 PM, an Overbrook police officer responded to a report of a reckless driver. After observing several traffic violations in the city, the officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle matching the description on US 56 at Ratner Rd.

The driver, Treyton D. Hamsher, age 20 of Topeka, was taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance, DUI, ignition interlock required, reckless driving and several traffic violations.

The Overbrook Police Department was assisted by the Osage County, KS Sheriff's Office. Hamsher was transported to the Osage County Jail without incident.
