NOVA MINERALS ACHIEVES KEY MILESTONE ON PATH TO
ANTIMONY PRODUCTION

Exciting news for Port MacKenzie. Enroute to the Port is almost 500 tons of critical minerals infrastructure and refining equipment. The Nova Minerals shipment left Seattle for Port MacKenzie!

This effort, funded by the US Department of War, is the first step towards antimony refinement in the Mat-Su Valley.

The shipment is expected to reach Port MacKenzie on approximately September 7. More news to come on this development as Nova Minerals intends to lease land within the Port District for this infrastructure.

***FOXTROT EXTENSION - ROAD TO OPEN AT 5PM TODAY***

The Foxtrot Extension near Shaw Elementary School in Wasilla will likely open to traffic this evening (Saturday, August 29th).

Granite Construction has been working this Summer to complete Phase 1 Construction including the new Shaw Elementary School access road, Foxtrot extension, and pathway.

Next week lite construction will continue to install school fencing and gates and final Clean up.

For safety reasons, please do not enter the work area while active construction is underway. We appreciate your cooperation, coordination, and understanding during these operations.

Construction hours are generally Monday through Saturday 7 am to 7 pm. For more information, contact Granite Construction directly at 907-267-5279.

RIBBON CUTTING AT CENTRAL LANDFILL
♻️ Investing in the Future of Mat-Su

This last Thursday, August 27th at the new Tipping House in the Central Landfill in Palmer, Mat-Su Borough officials, solid waste facility employees, partnering contractors, and members of the public celebrated new improvements that will help the facility run more efficiently in the coming years of growth in the Mat-Su.

Solid Waste Division Manager, Jeff Smith, Mat-Su District 2 Assembly Member, Stephanie Nowers, and Mat-Su Mayor, Edna DeVries spoke at this ribbon cutting to share details about how the new Central Landfill entrance improves safety, traffic flow, and customer service while providing the capacity needed to serve our growing community for years to come.

After the ribbon was cut, the new roadway entrance was opened and customers got to use the new scale house and tipping house as well.

This project, funded largely through grants, is another step toward modernizing solid waste services for Mat-Su residents.
