Long before Park City became a world-famous ski town, it was a mecca for cattle ranching and silver mining. Main Street was famous for its saloons, brothels and high-stakes gambling, and liquor flowed at illegal speakeasies throughout Prohibition.

When the booming silver mines went bust and local mining was gradually on its way to wrapping up, Park City almost became a ghost town, but skiing entered the scene with the opening of Treasure Mountain Resort in 1963. Today, the community’s cowboy legacy and outlaw spirit live on through Western fashion and hat shops on Main Street, many in storefronts that once housed mining-era shops and saloons.

From rodeos and riding lessons to whiskey and Western wear, discover how to experience and embrace the best in cowboy culture around Park City at the link below✨🤠

Ahh, Park City’s summer music scene. Some people think it’s all about lounging in lawn chairs jamming to an unplugged local act. Others say it’s about cheering a big, national touring show in an amphitheater capped off by fireworks and a drone display. Someone else insists it’s about singer-songwriters and behind-the-scenes music conversations. And then there are the tribute bands. The Nashville acts. The musical theater. Wait, did somebody say opera? Incredibly, all this is available in a single summer in Park City, Heber Valley and Sundance. The only downside? Choosing the events to attend and what to miss.

Far from the ocean, a surprising sailing culture is taking shape across Utah’s high-country reservoirs. Near Park City and the Heber Valley, alpine winds and wide-open water have created an unlikely mountain hub for lessons, racing and world-class training. From junior and collegiate sailors to Olympic competitors, a growing network of programs and athletes is redefining what sailing looks like in the Wasatch.

From her home near Hideout, Olympic sailor Francesca Clapcich can see the waters of Jordanelle Reservoir, where she trains for one of the sport’s ultimate challenges: a solo circumnavigation of the globe. Off the water, Clapcich is a Level 3 ski instructor at Park City Mountain Resort.

Please welcome our Summer 2026 issue!🩵🪻🌕

Standing proud on our cover this season is "Storm Mountain" by Salt Lake City-based artist, Lizzie Wenger. Wenger is represented by AGallery/Allen+Alan Fine Art.

An ode to summer in the Wasatch, Wenger's inspiration for this piece sparked after a late afternoon climbing session in Storm Mountain Picnic Area and wandering amidst the lush fields as the crickets chirped alongside the hum of Big Cottonwood Creek. Her playful and vibrant western landscapes inspire connectivity between people and places, share the healing forces of nature, and communicate her own relationship with the outdoors.

Here's to serene and moving Utah summer moments for us all✨
