We apologize for any frustrations parents/guardians had with the documentation requirement for the school supplies application. We have amended the form so only Tribal ID/CIB documentation is needed, not proof of enrollment.

Please note that unfortunately due to funding restrictions, this program is

If you travel out to Banana Point, you might notice a slightly new scene! The Petersburg Petersburg Borough, Alaska received a $900,000 grant from the Denali Commission for the Banana Point Breakwater Improvement Project. This project reinstalled/replaced the floats that had corroded and floated away. The contract was awarded to the lowest bidder, Western Dock and Bridge for $978,000. Unfortunately neither the Denali Commission nor the Petersburg Borough had additional funds for the project. However, PIA's Tribal Transportation Program stepped up to contribute the additional $78,000. Gunalchรฉesh to everyone involved, it's wonderful to have those in place again!

As Disability Pride Month comes to a close, Disability Pride continues every day.
It lives in our neighborhoods, our workplaces, our schools, our parks, and in the everyday work of building communities where everyone belongs.

At SAIL, Disability Pride is reflected in the work we do year-round, supporting people with disabilities in living independently, advocating for accessibility, and creating opportunities for everyone to participate fully in community life.

But creating a more accessible Southeast Alaska takes all of us.

We'd love to hear from you!

Tell us about:
-A local business that's making accessibility a priority.
-An inclusive community event.
-A disability-owned business you'd like to celebrate.
-Or simply share what Disability Pride means to you.

Together, we can continue building a Southeast Alaska where everyone feels welcome, included, and valued, not just in July, but every day of the year.

Thank you for celebrating Disability Pride Month with us. Let's keep the conversation, the advocacy, and the community going.
