As part of their final unit, our Emerging Sustainability Leaders had the opportunity to tour the Bold Reuse facility and see circular economy principles in action.

From reusable foodware systems to waste reduction strategies, the tour gave the cohort a firsthand look at how innovative solutions can help reduce single-use waste and rethink the way materials move through our communities.

Experiences like these are such an important part of the Emerging Sustainability Leaders program, connecting classroom conversations to real-world impact and introducing participants to the organizations helping shape a more sustainable Arizona.

A huge thank you to the Bold Reuse team for hosting us and sharing your work with our cohort!

And a very special thank you to Nanda, Jennifer, and Lori for their leadership, guidance, and dedication in helping host and shape this year’s program.

Thank you to everyone who joined us last week for our first official Arizona Sustainability Professionals event — Pathways in Sustainability.

It was an inspiring evening of conversation, connection, and shared learning as professionals from across Arizona came together to explore the many pathways within sustainability.

A special thank you to our speakers for sharing their experiences, insights, and perspectives on how their work is helping shape Arizona’s future.

We’re also incredibly grateful to Goodmans for hosting us and creating such a welcoming space for meaningful conversation and collaboration.

One of the biggest takeaways from the evening: no matter your industry, background, or career stage, everyone has a role to play in building a more sustainable Arizona — and there is always more we can learn from one another.

Thank you again to everyone who attended and contributed to the conversation. We’re excited to continue creating spaces that bring Arizona’s sustainability community together.

This year marks 100 years of Route 66—a historic corridor that helped shape Arizona’s growth, identity, and connection to the rest of the country.

During our Northern Arizona unit, our Emerging Sustainability Leaders had the opportunity to experience this legacy firsthand at Lowell Observatory, where an incredible setup brought the story of Route 66 to life. From culture and commerce to innovation and movement, it was a powerful reminder of how infrastructure can drive progress and community.

Route 66 didn’t just connect places—it helped move Arizona forward. As we look to the future, that same spirit of connection, exploration, and investment continues to shape how we think about sustainable growth across our state.

Thank you to Lowell Observatory for creating such a meaningful and engaging experience for our Emerging Leaders!
