PSPRS is recruiting an executive consultant 2/paralegal. We’re a $25+ billion pension serving Arizona’s first responders, corrections officers and elected officials. The candidate is responsible for the preparation of complex legal reports/documents determining appropriate method/procedure for completing assigned research projects. They also perform major paralegal work reviewing Consent Decrees/Decrees, Qualified Domestic Relations Orders, Guardianship/Conservatorship and Trust documents, Powers of Attorney, Survivor Benefits, Income Withholding Orders related to Child Support, and IRS tax levies with respect to pension benefits. As PSPRS issues monthly pension payments for its members, the paralegal is responsible for timely and accurate completion of assigned work projects with a high level of quality. About the role:
- Work independently and as a team with Member Services Division key personnel.
- Monthly review and prepare written responses and answer questions related to legal compliance of Divorce Decrees, Domestic Relations Orders, Child Support Orders and Tax Levies, Powers of Attorney, Conservatorships/Guardianships and Trust documents.
- Monthly preparation of Determination Letters and spreadsheets issuing instructions on pension splits and disbursements related to Divorce Decrees/DROS, Child Support and Tax Levies.
- Enter specific details from legal documentation into a Member’s “Court Orders” section in the digital database as well as adding alternate payees to Member accounts.
- Provide assistance to Records Manager to accept and respond to Subpoenas and Requests for Public Information.
