WeGrad

The American Dream Academy is now WeGrad!!!! The goal of WeGrad is to help every child achieve his or her greatest academic potential.

WeGrad is a program that helps create an extraordinary partnership between families, schools, and the university in which all partners collaborate to transform each child’s educational environment at home and at school. WeGrad demonstrates ASU’s commitment to access, so that all residents of Arizona may aspire to, and achieve a higher education. WeGrad helps parents to instill the value of education within themselves and their children.

Starting the semester strong alongside Phoenix Union HS District and Tolleson Union HS District.

Last week, WeGrad kicked off the fall with 177 families at Metro Tech High School and 73 at La Joya Community High School. 250 families are ready to begin their college-readiness journey.

Thank you to every family who showed up for us and to our district partners for opening their doors.

This past Monday we welcomed our new HMDP cohort of 8th and 9th graders. 🔱

This is the beginning of a journey that runs all the way through 12th grade and into college, with HMDP walking alongside them every step of the way.

A special thank you to the TNTP team for the engaging workshops that made our new students feel right at home from day one. What a way to start.

Este lunes le dimos la bienvenida a nuestro nuevo grupo de HMDP de 8 y 9 grado. 🔱

Este es el comienzo de un camino que llega hasta el grado 12 y hasta la universidad, con HMDP acompañándolos en cada paso.

Ready to give our best this semester. 🔱

This Saturday, our facilitators gathered for our Middle School Facilitator Training, sharpening their knowledge of our new middle school curriculum and getting ready for the semester ahead. Each facilitator completed the training and received an official Certificate. Thank you all for attending and for your hard work!

This year, WeGrad is coming to middle schools across Phoenix.

Este sábado, nuestros facilitadores se reunieron para nuestro Middle School Facilitator Training, donde reforzaron el conocimiento de nuestro nuevo currículum para middle school y se prepararon para el semestre que viene. This past Saturday we hosted the ASU Summer Bridge Program and it was an incredible learning experience.

65 families and incoming Sun Devils came together to start the upcoming semester feeling confident, supported, and ready for what's ahead. From hearing real stories from students who've already walked this path, to getting their questions answered and sharing this moment with their families. Thank you to the Access ASU team who made this a great experience.

To every student and family who showed up, we can't wait to see you thrive this fall. 🔱

Este sábado fuimos anfitriones del ASU Summer Bridge Program y fue una experiencia de aprendizaje increíble.

65 familias y futuros Sun Devils se reunieron para comenzar el próximo semestre sintiéndose seguros, acompañados y listos para lo que viene. Desde escuchar historias reales de estudiantes que ya vivieron este camino, hasta resolver sus dudas y compartir este momento con sus familias. Gracias al equipo de Access ASU por hacer de esta una gran experiencia.

This summer, we had the honor of returning to the families of Tolleson Union High School District, this time at Westview High School, to bring our WeGrad English Learner Program. 👏

Watching families show up, engage, and invest in their future is exactly why we do this work. A huge thank you to the Tolleson Union High School District, Westview High School, and our facilitator for making another successful summer program possible.

Fall semester is coming! We're currently working on the WeGrad schedule, and very soon you'll be able to see locations and dates so you can attend the school closest to you. 🎓

As we close another semester of WeGrad, we are proud to celebrate a very special collaboration alongside Teach For America, Gateway School, and Loma Linda School.

This program brought together middle school families to explore the transition into high school and beyond, helping students and parents better understand the path toward future success and higher education.

Throughout these weeks, families shared delicious meals together, participated in meaningful conversations during an incredible family panel, and ended the program with an emotional graduation celebration.

Thank you to Teach For America for your trust and partnership, to Creighton School District for your support, and to every family, facilitator, student, and speaker who made this experience possible.

With this celebration, we officially close another semester of WeGrad. 💛🎓

Al cerrar otro semestre más de WeGrad, nos llena de orgullo celebrar una colaboración muy especial con Teach For America, Gateway School y Loma Linda School.

Este programa reunió a familias de middle school para explorar la transición hacia la High School y más allá, ayudando a estudiantes y padres a comprender mejor el camino hacia el éxito y la educación superior.

Durante estas semanas, las familias compartieron deliciosas comidas en familia, participaron en conversaciones muy significativas en un increíble panel familiar y cerraron el programa con una emotiva ceremonia de graduación.

It feels like yesterday when we welcomed our families to the WeGrad program's introductory sessions.

Today, we are proud to celebrate three more schools joining our WeGrad graduates this fall: Carl Hayden High School, Central High School, and La Joya Community High School.

Throughout these weeks together, families and students learned how to navigate the path toward college and saw that access to higher education is truly possible.

Congratulations to all of our WeGrad graduates and families. Your journey is just beginning. And thank you to our incredible facilitators and school communities for the dedication and support that made all of this possible. 🎓

Parece que fue ayer cuando dimos la bienvenida a nuestras familias en las sesiones introductorias del programa WeGrad.

Hoy, nos llena de orgullo celebrar que tres escuelas más se unen a nuestros graduados de WeGrad este semestre: Carl Hayden High School, Central High School y La Joya Community High School.

A lo largo de estas semanas juntos, familias y estudiantes aprendieron a recorrer el camino hacia la universidad y vieron que el acceso a la educación superior sí es una realidad.
