A BIG thank you to Salt River Project (SRP)!💙

As temperatures soar across the Valley, access to lifesaving resources can make all the difference for our neighbors experiencing homelessness. That’s why we’re grateful to SRP for a generous $25,000 gift to support our heat relief efforts, helping us provide critical summer resources like water, heat relief kits and meals to those in need.

Happy National Food Bank Day! 🥳🥫💕

Today, we’re celebrating our incredible Food Reclamation team, Vincentians, and volunteers and thanking them for all they do to help put food on the tables of our neighbors in need. Through their hard work, 4.7 million pounds of food was received and distributed last year, helping provide nutritious meals to families and individuals throughout our community.

During Hunger Action Month, you can help us continue our mission in making sure no neighbor has to wonder where their next meal will come from.

Rick knows what it's like to suffer from heat stroke after not having a reliable form of transportation but receiving a bike became a step toward safety, better health, and independence.

Through SVdP’s bike shop, donated bikes are repaired and given to neighbors in need, helping remove transportation barriers and open the door to work, school, medical care, and other essential resources.

Today we kicked off Hunger Action Month!🥫❤️

All throughout September, Safeway , Albertsons , and azfamily 3TV CBS 5 are joining together to support St. Vincent de Paul and other local nonprofits to feed our neighbors together.

The need in our community is high as more than 450,000 Arizonans have lost access to SNAP benefits since July 2025, including nearly 200,000 children.

Your donations will help put food on the table for many families in need and will help make sure no one goes to bed hungry!

We’re excited to partner with the Arizona State University Alumni Association to host food drives at every Sparky’s Touchdown Tailgate home games this football season! 🏈 The first one is this Saturday, September 5 from 4:30-6:30pm! And there are perks for donating.

Give 3 or more non-perishable food items to support your community and receive two free fountain drinks or one adult beverage.

With temperatures reaching record-breaking levels this week and continuous days over 100 degrees, the risk remains dangerously high for our unhoused neighbors.

Check out this story with FOX 10 Phoenix, taking you to our overnight heat relief shelter with 170 cots. Hear from two siblings who once stayed at our heat relief shelter and now volunteer to pay it forward. You’ll also hear from our staff about what they’re seeing on the front lines and the difference our heat relief efforts are making in the community.

A huge thank you to the staff at Girl Scouts–Arizona Cactus-Pine Council, Inc. for donating and distributing over 800 boxes of cookies to our shelter guests. Over 20 staff members volunteered their time serving lunch at our Phoenix Dining Room. All in part to help kick off a council-wide food drive benefiting SVdP!🍪💚

Throughout the month of October, Girl Scouts across the council will come together to collect food donations to help support our neighbors in need and earn a special patch.🥫🎖️

“We didn't have energy, because all our energy was drained from being stressed from the situation, not knowing what was next,” said Chavi Padgett.

Chavi and her boyfriend had experienced homelessness once before after tragedy had struck within their home. They were drained and stressed day after day as they tried to make ends meet. When it felt like every door had closed, SVdP stepped in to offer a helping hand.

For a family living paycheck to paycheck, one setback can lead to eviction and the trauma of experiencing homelessness. This month, when you donate to Angels on Call, a donor program that allows community members to help prevent and end homelessness for individuals and families like Chavi and her boyfriend, your gift will be doubled thanks to a matching gift of $10,000.

There are many reasons why people may need support with food, bills or rent.

Lauren is a perfect example of why we can’t make assumptions about who needs help. As a young single mother, she was working hard while pursuing her education and building her career, but her income wasn’t always enough to cover her family’s basic expenses. When she was at risk of losing her housing, SVdP stepped in with rent, utility, food and other assistance to help keep Lauren and her son safely housed.
