PUBLIC INFORMATION RELEASE

Train Derailment / Vehicle Collision – US-377

At approximately 5:20 a.m. on August 16, 2026, the Collinsville Fire Department was dispatched to a reported vehicle-versus-train accident near US-377 and County Line Church Road.
Upon arrival, CFD personnel determined that a train had derailed, obstructing both the northbound and southbound lanes of US-377. A vehicle traveling southbound on US-377 subsequently collided with the derailed train.

ROAD CLOSURE

US-377 is currently CLOSED to both northbound and southbound traffic from the north city limits of Collinsville to the US-377/Business 377 area south of Whitesboro.

No through traffic will be permitted through the affected area for several hours. Motorists are strongly encouraged to avoid US-377 in this area and use alternate routes.

Multiple emergency response and law enforcement agencies remain on scene working the incident and roadway closure. No additional details will be released at this time, as the incident remains under investigation. Additional information will be provided when appropriate.
