And just like that, another season of Music in the Parks comes to a close. 💙🎶

From park to park, we shared a summer filled with music, laughter, familiar faces, new memories and plenty of Pontiac love.

Last night at Beaudette Park was the perfect way to bring it all home. Thank you to every resident, family, artist, vendor and community member who came out and made each stop special.

The music may be over for now, but the memories we made together will carry on.

Until next time, Pontiac. 💙

If you’ve been to Music in the Park this summer, you already know the vibes. 🎶🌳

Last week, we had a great time at Rotary Park with good music, good food and even better company. Now, we’re getting ready to do it one more time!

Tonight is our FINAL Music in the Park of the year at Beaudette Park! If you haven’t made it out to one yet, this is your last chance. And if you’ve been rocking with us all summer, come help us close out the season the right way.

See you tonight, Pontiac! 🎶🙌🏾

Happy Labor Day, Pontiac!

We’re grateful for the hardworking city employees, past and present, who keep the city going. Thank you for laboring to benefit our residents.

Some background of this image: On March 10, 1982 there was a pothole on Orchard Lake Road so bad that a city Public Works truck carrying asphalt for pothole patching sunk into the street. The city staff then had to unload the asphalt to lessen the load, so that the truck could be towed out.

In the years after this photo was taken, a Pontiac roads millage was adopted by the people and substantial replacement of many of our local roads happened, but the 1980s were the last time most road replacements happened.

Luckily, we haven’t had problems that extreme recently, but we have to tackle the deferred maintenance and delayed replacement of many of our neighborhood roads. On this fall’s ballot is a local roads improvement bond proposal from the city, which would authorize the replacement of our most deteriorated roads. Over the next few weeks leading up to voting process, we’ll go more in depth and share as much information as possible.

A little rain couldn’t stop the fun at Music in the Park! 🎶🌧️💙
After the storm passed, the Pontiac community still showed up and showed out at Rotary Park for an evening filled with great music, good food, and even better company.
Thank you to everyone who came out and made the most of the evening with us. Rain or shine, Pontiac knows how to have a good time! 🙌🏾
