miles of lines and 261 substations to 475 transmission customers. In all, BPA markets about a third of the electricity consumed in the Northwest and operates three-quarters of the region’s high-voltage transmission grid. BPA also funds one of the largest fish and wildlife programs in the world, and, with its partners, pursues cost-effective energy savings and operational solutions that help maintain reliable and affordable power for the Northwest. Our 2026-2030 strategy outlines six goals that will guide our work to meet the Northwest’s growing energy needs while keeping service reliable and affordable.

Over the next five years, BPA will focus on growing the grid, increasing productivity, protecting rate payers and investing in our workforce to secure a stronger energy future for the Northwest.
