🔥 Pass the Torch Tuesday! 🔥
This week, we are passing the torch to Mrs. Joy Brumfield, our amazing ISS presider! 💚🏴‍☠️
Mrs. Joy is an integral part of our Galvez family and a true champion for our students! She works hard to build strong relationships with parents, communicate with families, and guide our students toward making positive choices. Through her compassion, encouragement, and dedication, she helps our little Pirates learn from their mistakes, make better decisions, and grow into their best selves.
We are so thankful to have Mrs. Joy as part of our Pirate Family! Thank you for the important role you play in supporting our students and helping them succeed. You make a difference every day! 💚

Our first graders have been learning about Native Americans in Social Studies, with a special focus on the people of Poverty Point and how they survived long ago! 🌿
We learned about how Native Americans used natural resources to meet their needs, including weaving materials to make useful items. One of the activities we explored was basket weaving, so our little historians got to try weaving for themselves and create their very own placemats!
Hands-on learning makes history come alive, and we loved seeing our students put their creativity and new knowledge to work!

Our kindergarten students in Mrs. Candler’s and Mrs. LeCroy’s classes have been busy exploring forces and motion! Through hands-on activities, students practiced exerting forces on objects by pushing and pulling to make them move, stop, or change direction!

Fresh air, collaboration, teamwork, and strong problem-solving skills made for a perfect afternoon of learning math this week. Outstanding job, young mathematicians! 👏
