The Board of County Commissioners meet on Tuesday of each week beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the Chesapeake Hearing Room located on the main floor of the County Administration Building, located at 150 Main St. Evening meetings are scheduled when necessary. All regular or special meetings are open to the public. The Commissioners also meet in Executive Session, as allowed by law. Celebrate America’s 250th anniversary close to home with events happening throughout Calvert County.

From historic sites to community gatherings, Calvert 250 highlights the founding of the United States and invites visitors to explore local stories and attractions. The Calvert 250 committee encourages an inclusive, yearlong statewide celebration and commemoration in 2026.

America 250 Rock Painting Community Event
📍June 23 and 30 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at The Tea Nook at Butterflies & Wishes Tea & Sweets in Chesapeake Beach

Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Festival
📍June 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Calvert Library in Prince Frederick

Ghosts of the Revolution
📍June 27 at 7 p.m. at WhataBoba Lusby presented by Spooky Solomons

By Shore and Soil: Calvert County During the Revolutionary War
📍June 28 from 1-2 p.m. at the North Beach Maryland Town Hall

America's 250 Anniversary: Featured Items and Exhibits
📍Exhibit at the Bayside History Museum in North Beach; museum is open Wed-Fri 9 a.m. to noon and 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The museum also hosts an exhibit table at the Saturday morning farmers market in North Beach every week.

Open Saturday mornings from 8-11:30 a.m. at the North Beach Senior Center parking lot, 9010 Chesapeake Ave. in North Beach.

Thank you to everyone who joined our America 250 flag-raising ceremony!

Hosted by the Calvert County Commission for Veterans & Military Families, the ceremony brought together community members to celebrate America's 250th anniversary.

A special thank you to the service members who participated in the ceremony, Joy Mitchell for sharing her vocal talents while singing "The Star-Spangled Banner", the Board of County Commissioners for attending, County Administrative Judge Mark S. Chandlee of the Seventh Judicial Circuit for his special presentation and the Calvert County Sheriff's Office Color Guard for presenting the colors and raising the flag.
