Way to go boys!

Let us be proud for a minute. We are the 2025 Georgetown University Football Hoya 7v7 Showcase Champions. We came out on top of 19 team tournament, after completing the day with a 6-0-1 record, scoring 131 points and only allowing 87. The nineteen teams included six private schools, and two 7v7 all-star teams. We faced nothing but the best from the teams on our schedule, but our Cavaliers found something extra and finished on top.

Pool Play Summary:
Game 1: We tied 14-14 with Ron Brown High School.
Game 2: We won 14-0 over Long Island Verified 7on7.
Game 3: We won 31-14 over Mount Vernon High School.

Bracket Play (seeded fourth out of nineteen)
Game 4: In a rematch we won 14-7 over Mount Vernon High School.
Game 5: We won on the last drive after we successfully go for two twice and end the last drive with an interception to take the lead and win 26-24.
Game 6: We score and go up 17-14 and hold DeMatha High School out of the endzone on their last effort long ball.
Game 7: We score in the closing seconds of the game and get the two-point conversion after regulation to win 15-14 over Mt. Zion Prep.

But here is the real story. Our squad featured only three rising seniors, which included one who had never played a down for Calvert high. We had five rising juniors, three rising sophomores and one rising freshman. Our Cavaliers played both ways, they sometimes played out of position, and they were beyond exhausted in the end, BUT they never gave in, and they battled like true warriors.

We played with tremendous grit and overcame a great deal to finish on top; however, this is just the start. Our players gave their all for each other, and this conviction proved to be the greatest difference maker on the day. This will prove to be the beginning of what it will be.
