🎉 National Principals Month Spotlight: Calvert Elementary

❓We asked: What was your first job?
✨Dr. Harris' answer: My first job was as a waitress at Pizza Hut. I enjoyed talking with my customers and loved the free pizza!

Thank you for making a difference for the students and staff of Calvert Elementary School - CCPS every day!

Thank you to all of the families who came to visit the nest! These last two nights of open house were wonderful! We hope you had a chance to connect with staff and see what your kiddos are doing! Great things are happening at CES every day!❤️🦅💙

We are beyond grateful (there were some misty eyes) this morning at CES! The staff was treated with some incredibly delicious treats from Wood Wire and Whimsey and vendors. They had a Back to School Give Away contest to support teachers with a Supply Tree... but it was SO much more than that! CES families, please consider supporting these wonderful businesses- they spoiled your CES staff and provided a ton of supplies for our students.

We can't thank you enough, Wood Wire & Whimsy and team! CES staff works so hard; you made us feel seen and appreciated as we kick off the school year and finish up our first full week!

FROM OUR PRINCIPALS 🎓

As we begin a new school year, we’re hearing directly from the school leaders who help set the tone in our buildings each day.

Over the next few weeks, our From Our Principals series will highlight CCPS principals as they share what excites them about the year ahead, what makes them proud of their schools, and the people who make it all possible.

We’re kicking off the series with Dr. Harris, Principal of Calvert Elementary School, who reminds us just how important those earliest years of learning are.

A great way to start our series and our school year. 🌟

One School System. One Vision. Students at the Center.

This past week, we celebrated our Volunteer of the Year, Sarah Butera! ❤️💙🦅

Sarah is a valued asset to our PTA and CES community. Her dedication, generosity, and continued support for our students, staff, and families make a lasting impact on our school.

Thank you, Sarah, for all you do to help our Eagles soar! We are grateful to have you as part of our school family. 🦅

This past week, we celebrated and said farewell to three incredible teachers of our CES family: Mrs. Anne Piccoli, Mrs. Patrece Simms, and Mrs. Sarah Huth. ❤️💙🦅

We are so grateful for the dedication, kindness, and positive impact these ladies have had on our students and our school community. We wish Mrs. Piccoli and Mrs. Simms a wonderful retirement and Mrs. Huth continued success in her new position.

Thank you for all you have done for our Eagles! Once an Eagle, always an Eagle. 🦅
