🎒🚌 BACK TO SCHOOL IS HERE! 🚌🎒

As our kids head back to school, let’s all do our part to make sure they get there—and home—safely. ❤️

🚨 SCHOOL BUS SAFETY REMINDER FROM THE CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL:
When a school bus has its red lights flashing and stop signal displayed, STOP! 🛑

Drivers must remain stopped until the red lights stop flashing and it is safe to proceed. Remember, a few extra seconds could protect a child’s life.

👀 Slow down.
🛑 Watch for flashing red lights.
🚸 Expect children to be crossing.
📵 Put the distractions away.
❤️ Protect our kids.

Let’s start this school year with patience, awareness, and a commitment to keeping every student safe.

As you celebrate this Independence Day weekend, remember that the California Highway Patrol will have additional officers on patrol throughout the Holiday Enforcement Period.

This weekend's enforcement effort is focused on speed and impaired driving - two of the leading causes of serious injury and fatality crashes.

Before you head out:
> Remember to slow down and obey the
posted speed limits.
> Designate a sober driver before your
celebration begins.

Most importantly, have a safe and enjoyable Independence Day. We look forward to everyone arriving at their destination safely!

A seat belt can be the difference between walking away from a crash and never making it home.

From May 18–31, the California Highway Patrol will participate in the national Click It or Ticket campaign with increased seat belt enforcement. Officers will be stopping drivers and passengers who are not properly buckled up.

Too many lives are lost each year because someone chose not to wear a seat belt. In a crash, being ejected from a vehicle is often deadly, and airbags alone are not enough to protect you.

Buckle up correctly every trip:
✔️ Shoulder belt across your chest
✔️ Lap belt low across your hips
❌ Never behind your back or under your arm

🌧️ RAINY WEATHER DRIVING SAFETY 🌧️

Recent rain brings slick roads and reduced visibility. Even light showers can create dangerous driving conditions—especially after long dry periods.

Stay safe with these tips:

• Slow down – Wet roads reduce traction and increase stopping distance
• Turn on headlights – Help others see you and improve your visibility
• Increase following distance – Give yourself more time to react
• Avoid sudden movements – Hard braking or sharp turns can cause loss of control
• Check your tires & wipers – Proper equipment is critical in wet conditions

Remember: It’s not just about your driving—it’s about everyone on the road. Make safe choices and arrive alive.
