On August 4 at approximately 6:51 a.m., Rehoboth Dispatch received a report of a structure fire. The department was immediately dispatched for a working structure fire.
Upon arrival, Rehoboth Police confirmed the residence was fully engulfed in flames. Car 1 immediately requested mutual aid from Seekonk and Dighton directly to the scene, along with the Bristol County Tanker Task Force.
Car 1 arrived to find the home fully involved with heavy fire showing through the roof. The homeowner was able to safely evacuate prior to our arrival and was transported for evaluation with minor smoke inhalation. The homeowner was treated and later released.
This incident presented significant challenges from the start. The fire had a substantial head start before the arrival of the fire department. Crews also faced a very narrow roadway with emergency vehicles operating on both sides, and the home was located approximately 800 feet from the road, making water supply and access especially difficult.
I couldn’t be more proud of the members of the Rehoboth Fire Department for their professionalism, determination, and teamwork throughout this incident.
