Today, Rehoboth Ambulance, Rehoboth Fire Department, and Rehoboth Police Department responded to a call for an unresponsive patient in South Rehoboth. While units were en route, dispatch advised that CPR had been started. These are always difficult calls for first responders to hear while responding.

Rehoboth Police arrived on scene first and immediately took over CPR from the patient’s twin daughters. Rehoboth Fire arrived shortly after, quickly followed by Rehoboth Ambulance. This was a complete team effort that went exactly as it should from start to finish involving Dispatch, Rehoboth Ambulance, Rehoboth Police, and Rehoboth Fire.

The quick actions of Officer Miranda, Sgt. Warrish, and everyone involved made a difference and helped save this person’s life.

These are the calls we hate, but they are also the calls that remind us why we do what we do. Today started in the worst way possible, but thanks to training, teamwork, and the efforts of everyone involved, the outcome was as good as we could have hoped for.

Outstanding work by all involved. I am proud to be a part of this town.

Last night, the Rehoboth Fire Department proudly attended the graduation ceremony for the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy’s Call/Volunteer Recruit Training Class 125. We are pleased to recognize and congratulate three of our newest firefighters — FF Fournier, FF McTomney, and FF Spearin — on successfully completing this demanding program.

Over the course of 240 hours of rigorous training conducted during evenings and weekends, these recruits demonstrated exceptional dedication and commitment while also maintaining full-time jobs. Their hard work, perseverance, and determination have earned them this significant accomplishment.

FF Fournier, FF McTomney, and FF Spearin were among 40 graduates who officially completed the program during a ceremony held Wednesday, May 20, at Horace Mann Auditorium on the campus of Bridgewater State University.

Graduates represented departments from Acushnet, Dartmouth Fire District 1, Dighton, Fairhaven, Freetown, Halifax, Marion, Mattapoisett, Norwell, Onset, Rehoboth, Swansea, Wareham, and West Barnstable.

Congratulations again to FF Fournier, FF McTomney, and FF Spearin. Your Rehoboth Fire Department family is proud of you, and we thank you for your commitment to serving our community.

Station 2 testing out a new style hose and comparing it to the current ones. This new hose was able to run at a lower pressure, while maintaining a higher water flow and less force at the nozzle compared to the hose currently in service.
