see if it's available. It is the VETERAN, not the preacher,
who has given us freedom of religion. It is the VETERAN, not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press. It is the VETERAN, not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech. It is the VETERAN, not the campus organizer,
who has given us freedom to assemble. It is the VETERAN, not the lawyer,

Yesterday was the fundraiser for the Casey Frankoski Memorial Fund at the South Old Post Golf Course. Many of our Post family were there to support a great cause as well as just have a good time. After the torrential downpour, it turned into a beautiful day/evening.

Yesterday morning our little Post had the honor of hosting the Tribute to Fallen Soldiers Memorial Torch Motorcycle Ride. This was their 17th annual ride from Eugene, Oregon to Arlington Cemetery honoring Gold Star Families across the country. This year they are visiting 52 families on their ride. While in Albany, Rensselaer, and East Greenbush, they visited the families of Ltc Todd Clark, CWO2 Casey Frankoski, CWO2 John Grassia, and Staff Sgt Derek Farley.
The photos posted here are from several different photographers, so they are not in order. Thank you Sons member Keith Bradt, Auxiliary member Roseann Nardacci-Brown, and Post Commander Chris Gilluley for their contributions.
EDIT: I added the video of the raising of the flag in the comments. 🇺🇸

This morning Police Chief Warren Famiglietti and Deputy Chief John Mooney, on behalf of the Rensselaer City Police Department, accepted the award of Police Department of the Year for the 3rd District. The 3rd District is made up of 7 counties with a combined 58 law enforcement agencies. Our Post Commander, Chris Gilluley, and our City Clerk, Nancy Hardt, joined them at the Saugerties American Legion Post #72 to receive this award. Congratulations, ladies and gentlemen, you rightfully deserve this honor! Keep up the good work!

Due to the weather, the parade will be kicking off as soon as the ceremony is over. This should be closer to 1:30 than the original time of 2:00.

Post Commander Chris Gilluley and Sons member Keith Bradt gave our home a little facelift while Bartender Melissa Gilluley broke out the elbow grease (and Brasso) to polish up the push plate and kick plate for the front door. Well Done! It looks good!
