Today, the members of the Clinton Heights Fire Department pause to honor and remember the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation and our freedoms.
We remember the fallen. We give thanks for their courage, their service, and the liberties we enjoy because of them. Their legacy lives on in every parade, every backyard barbecue, and every quiet moment of peace we are blessed to have in our community.
As firefighters and first responders, we understand the call to serve something greater than ourselves. Many of our own members are veterans or have family who answered that call. Today, we stand in gratitude alongside all who wear the uniform — past and present.
To our veterans, active duty service members, and their families: thank you. We will never forget.
Please stay safe today. Remember to grill responsibly, watch children around water, and have a fire extinguisher ready. If you need us, we’re always here.
