School starts tomorrow! Please slow down, stay alert, and help us make the first day back safe for every student, parent, teacher, and school employee. Drivers should expect heavier morning and afternoon traffic, more pedestrians at crosswalks, school buses making frequent stops, and families walking or biking to and from school.

• Slow down in and around school zones, especially during arrival and dismissal times.
• Stop for school buses: It is unlawful and dangerous to pass a school bus when its red lights are flashing and stop arm is extended.
• Watch crosswalks and intersections: Children may be excited, distracted, or difficult to see—particularly during early-morning hours.
• Follow school drop-off procedures: Obey posted signs, crossing guards, school staff, and traffic directions. Do not double-park or block driveways, crosswalks, bus zones, or fire lanes.
• Talk with your children: Remind them to use sidewalks and crosswalks, look both ways before crossing, avoid phones and headphones near traffic, and never approach or accept rides from strangers.
• Give yourself extra time: Leave home a few minutes early to avoid rushing, speeding, or unsafe drop-off decisions.

Our officers will be conducting increased patrols and traffic enforcement near schools to promote a safe start to the school year. Let’s work together to ensure every child arrives safely and returns home safely.

Riverside Man Charged with Soliciting S*x Videos from Minors

Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw announced that a 33-year-old Riverside man pled not guilty this week in Superior Court to charges of coercing numerous underage girls into creating and sending him sexual photos and videos.

Gilmer Briones-Guevara, of West Scott Street, is charged with 10 counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (First Degree), two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Second Degree), Luring, Enticing a Child (Second Degree), Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with Intent to Distribute (Second Degree), Possession of a Fi***rm While Committing Certain Drug Offenses (Second Degree), two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Third Degree), Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (Third Degree) and Obscenity to a Minor (Third Degree).

Briones-Guevara was indicted last month. The case will now proceed to trial. The defendant has been lodged in the Burlington County Jail in Mount Molly since his arrest in April.

The investigation began after the Prosecutor’s Office High-Tech Crimes Unit received a tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children concerning Briones-Guevara’s online activities. The investigation revealed that Briones-Guevara engaged in sexual conversations with approximately 50 underage girls, often sending photos and videos of himself ma********ng, and requested they provide similar material in return. Ten of those he targeted complied, sending him Child S*xual Abuse Material of themselves they had created.

The weapons and drug charges stem from the ex*****on of a search warrant at his residence during which a handgun and co***ne were seized.

Investigators suspect additional victims may exist. Anyone who believes their child was approached online or in person by the defendant is urged to contact the Prosecutor’s Office at https://burlpros.org/tips.

The investigation was conducted by the Prosecutor’s Office. The lead investigator was BCPO Detective Steven Trunfio. Briones-Guevara is being prosecuted by Assistant Prosecutor Keith Carmy, supervisor of the BCPO High-Tech Crimes Unit.

All persons are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
