Today, we commemorate June 19, 1865. The day news of emancipation finally reached the enslaved African Americans in Galveston, TX, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

Juneteenth is a time to reflect on our nation's history, honor the resilience and achievements of Black Americans, and reaffirm our commitment to equity, opportunity, and inclusion for all.

Montgomery County is strengthened by the diversity of our communities and the many voices, cultures, and experiences that shape who we are.

As we celebrate today, let us continue working together to build a future where every resident has the opportunity to thrive.

Midweek Matters
Consistency Beats Intensity...

Most people don't fail because they aren't capable. They fail because they try to do too much, too fast.
A week of intense effort will never outperform months of steady progress. Real growth comes from showing up.... even on days when you don't feel motivated. Experts across fitness, leadership, and personal development consistently point to daily repetition and sustainable habits as the foundation of long-term success.

You don't have to be perfect.
You just have to be present.

A 30-minute walk every day beats on exhausting workout a month. A few pages read every day beat finishing one book and never opening another. A simple act of kindness every day can change a relationship. Small actions. Repeated consistently. Produce extraordinary results.
This week, focus on less being impressive and more on being consistent. Because success isn't built in a day. It's build daily.

MIDWEEK MATTERS
"Your peace is valuable. Protect it."

Protect your Peace.
Not every argument needs your response.
Not every opinion deserves your attention.
Not every problem belongs on your shoulders.

Peace isn't something you find -- it's something you protect.

Protect it by setting boundaries.
Protect it by choosing your battles wisely.
Protect it by limiting the voices that drain your energy and focusing on the ones that build you up.

You can care deeply without carrying everything.
You can disagree without engaging.
You can walk away without losing.

This week, be intentional about what you allow into your mind, your schedule, and your heart.

Your peace is valuable. Protect it.

MIDWEEK MATTERS
Stop Waiting on the Perfect Timing!
One of the biggest reasons people stay stuck is because they're waiting for the perfect moment to take action. The perfect time to start the business, make the call, pursue the goal, have the conversation, or make a change rarely arrives exactly as we imagine it.

Progress doesn't come from perfect conditions. It comes from consistent action despite imperfect circumstances. The people who accomplish the most aren't always the most talented or the most prepared--- they're often the ones willing to take the first step before they have all the answers.

If you've been putting something off because you're waiting for the stars to align, consider this your reminder: momentum is created by movement.

This week, choose one thing you've been delaying and take a step forward. It doesn't have to be a giant leap. A small action today is worth more than a perfect plan that never gets started.

Your future self will thank you for beginning before you felt completely ready.

MIDWEEK MATTERS - "Speak Life into People"
Your words carry weight.
A few encouraging words can shift someone's entire day, restore confidence, or remind them they are not fighting life alone.
In a world full of criticism, negativity, and silence, be the person who speaks life:
*Encourage people publicaly
*Compliment genuinely
*Correct with grace
*Support loudly
*Remind people their value

You never know what someone is carrying behind the scenes. Sometimes the smallest words make the biggest impact.
Speak life into people this week, you may change more than you realize.
