MoCo DSA has seen tremendous growth this year! As Josie Caballero said at our annual picnic this weekend, people are looking for courage to fight for what matters and you all show up with that courage every time you talk to your family, friends and neighbors about a better world where we put people before profits.

Against all odds we’ve organized for housing justice, workers’ rights to collectively bargain, to keep our communities safe from the scourge of ICE, end country funding for Israeli companies complacent in the genocide and knocked thousands of doors to elect democratic socialists to local office.

Whether you’ve been with DSA for years or are considering joining, we look forward to organizing with you in the years to come. A better world is possible, solidarity forever!

Honored to have DSA member and endorsed incumbent for Maryland House of Delegates District-39 with us at the Rally for Accountability today in Gaithersburg, MD. Have you reached out to the Gaithersburg City Council or Mayor Judd Ashman yet about their silence on the incident on 7/28 where ICE was transferring community members in front of a summer camp at Bohrer Park? Call them now and demand the city adopt county wide laws such as the County Values Act to protect our communities on the city level in Gaithersburg.

Feel free to drop by anytime between 6:30 and 8:30 and stay for as long or briefly as you can. If you’ve never been, Bruster’s is outdoor with some seating but we’ll likely hang out in the parking lot tailgate style- bring a camp chair or two if you have one!

Help pack the room for the County Council working session tomorrow on Tuesday, July 28th where the council will be voting on an 18-month moratorium and a ZTA (zoning text amendment) for hyperscale data centers in MoCo. The meeting will be in the County Council building, 100 Maryland Ave, Rockville, MD in the 3rd floor hearing room at 1: 30pm. Come show the Council that we say NO to data centers in in Moco and that in 18-month moratorium is an absolute minimum!
