A partnership two years in the making! Thank you to the Bear Paw Marathon and good luck to all of the participants! Please enjoy our beautiful homelands.

A Heartfelt Thank You to the Chippewa Cree Tribe 💚

The Bear Paw Marathon is fortunate to run through some of the most beautiful landscapes in Montana, and this year, we are especially honored to begin our marathon course on the sacred Rocky Boy's Reservation.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Chippewa Cree Tribe for their partnership, hospitality, and willingness to welcome runners from across Montana and throughout the United States to this special place.

The Bear Paw Mountains hold deep cultural, historical, and natural significance. We recognize the privilege of sharing this landscape with our participants and are committed to treating it with the respect it deserves.

This partnership helps create an unforgettable experience for our runners while also showcasing the beauty, heritage, and spirit of this region to visitors from near and far.

On behalf of the Havre Chamber, our volunteers, and every participant who will stand at the starting line, thank you to the Chippewa Cree Tribe for helping make the 2026 Bear Paw Marathon possible.

We are grateful for your support and look forward to a memorable race day together. 💚

Attention range folks! If you have not yet turned in your 2026 range application, those units you used will be made available to other permittees on May 15th. They were due in February/March of this year.

If you did not turn in an application and you are in a rang unit as of today, you are in trespass and will be cited accordingly. The same goes for if you have not paid your past due balances. You must be current on your bills and/or past due bills to be in a range unit!

04/22/2026

Please be advised if you have been permitted for 2026, but have outstanding bills from past years, do not go into a spring range unit until those payments are caught up.

If you have not yet gotten a bill for 2026, please contact range at NRD as soon as possible. Thank you.

Greetings! With spring range beginning on April 1st, please check your fences and gates prior to going in your units! If there are downed fence lines, please DO NOT go in until they are fixed or repaired! Thank you for your attention to these items. Happy Spring!

10/21/2025

Greetings! Please be reminded to be checking your fences and gates as we approach Fall range beginning on November 1st. We are also requesting that folks do not go into the units early. Thank you.

10/08/2025

Please be reminded that fall range does not begin until November 1st. If you are bringing cattle down from the mountains early you must take them to a land assignment. Penalties will be assessed for early in.

Again, fall range does not begin until November 1st. Thank you for your cooperation.
