Please join us, as we celebrate Candice "Candy" Saddler, our CCT Probate Clerk, as she retires today after 9 years of service at the Natural Resources Department. Candy has been an important member of our staff and has demonstrated exempletive dedication in her position. Her laughter and fun personality will be deeply missed by all staff. We would like to wish her well in her retirement and future endeavors. Thank you Candy for being such a great part of our team! ❤️

Announcement! You asked and we listened! We are pleased to announce this Fall we will be doing an open lottery draw for a female moose tag here on Rocky Boy! So get your chances in and enter as many times as you like for that lucky draw! Tribal members only. Must be 18 or over. Tickets can be purchased at the tribal office finance window. Good luck!

Attention all tribal range unit permittees! As of today, June 16th, there should not be ANY cattle/livestock in any spring/fall range units! We are now in summer range. Any cattle found in spring/fall range units after today may be impounded and fees and/or fines assessed. Thank you.

Bear Alert!!

Please be alert and aware of your surroundings while in the park and on the reservation side. Bears are about. Put all food and trash away securely. Tribal fish and game will be out and about monitoring the area. Thank you.

—Possible grizzly bear detected near Rotary Pond in Beaver Creek County Park south of Havre—

Last night, trail cam footage east of Rotary Pond showed a bear (what appears to be a grizzly bear) in the area. The bear has not caused any conflicts and may or may not still be in the area. However, recreationists and campers in the area, and hikers along the Mount Otis trail, should remain vigilant and be bear aware.

Bears can be found throughout Montana. People venturing into the outdoors can help avoid issues by following some essential “bear aware” strategies, such as:

* Keep food and anything with a scent out of tents.
* Dispose of garbage in bear-resistant bins; do not bury or burn garbage.
* Carry bear spray in an accessible place and know how to use it.
* Stay alert and look for bear activity and make noise periodically, especially where visibility or hearing is limited.
* Travel in groups and avoid night, dawn or dusk hours whenever possible.
* When on the trail, avoid carcass sites and concentrations of ravens and other scavengers.

The Bear Paw Marathon is fortunate to run through some of the most beautiful landscapes in Montana, and this year, we are especially honored to begin our marathon course on the sacred Rocky Boy's Reservation.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Chippewa Cree Tribe for their partnership, hospitality, and willingness to welcome runners from across Montana and throughout the United States to this special place.

The Bear Paw Mountains hold deep cultural, historical, and natural significance. We recognize the privilege of sharing this landscape with our participants and are committed to treating it with the respect it deserves.

This partnership helps create an unforgettable experience for our runners while also showcasing the beauty, heritage, and spirit of this region to visitors from near and far.

On behalf of the Havre Chamber, our volunteers, and every participant who will stand at the starting line, thank you to the Chippewa Cree Tribe for helping make the 2026 Bear Paw Marathon possible.
