Update from Rye Fire Rescue's Lifeguard Squad regarding staffing and weather alerts for the upcoming weekend.
On Friday, May 29th, the Town's Lifeguards will be staffed at Cable Beach. Due to expected rain, high winds, and colder than average temperatures (45-50F during the day), the beaches will not be staffed on Saturday, May 30th. On Sunday, May 31st, Lifeguards will likely be staffed on Cable Beach and Sawyers Beach. As always, check with your local lifeguards for questions on tides, air and water temperatures, and local rules.
Remember, the water temperatures this time range from 48-52F and will require swimmers to wear a wetsuit to enter the water. For more water safety tips, please check here: USLA's Top Ten Beach and Water Safety Tips - United States Lifesaving Association
