Grateful to have joined colleagues from across the region last night as San Juan Apartments was recognized with the 2026 Outstanding Community Improvement Project Award from the ASCE - Sacramento Section.

Mutual Housing California is honored to share this recognition with Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency and the many public, community, design, construction and financing partners whose collaboration helped bring 113 new permanently affordable homes—and meaningful neighborhood investment—to South Sacramento.

Thank you to ASCE Sacramento Section for recognizing the collective work behind projects that strengthen our communities.

More affordable homes for South Stockton seniors are taking shape—and they’re getting here faster. 🏗️🏠

Thank you to KCRA 3 and Maricela De La Cruz for joining us at Fairview Terrace and highlighting how factory-built housing is helping Mutual Housing California bring 76 permanently affordable homes for seniors 55+ to the community. The approach is expected to help us deliver Fairview Terrace 30–40% faster than through our traditional construction approach.

Just as important as how these homes are being built is the partnership making them possible. Today, our partners were all in—celebrating, participating in the festivities and sharing in a milestone that belongs to the entire community.

A huge thank you to STAND, the City of Stockton - Government and Mayor Christina Fugazi, California Energy Commission, Rep. Cross-sector partnership is helping turn innovation into impact. 🏗️🏠

And it's exciting to see the first home modules being set! We’re grateful to Health Net, LLC for its strong investment in Fairview Terrace—and for recognizing the role affordable housing can play in creating healthier, more resilient communities. Their partnership is helping bring 76 permanently affordable homes for Stockton seniors closer to reality while supporting a catalyst project for Mutual Housing California’s larger factory-built housing pipeline.

Today, we look forward to celebrating another major home-setting milestone alongside Health Net and the many instrumental community, public, financing, design and construction partners whose collective investment and expertise are making this work possible.

🏠 Exciting news for Stockton seniors!

Health Net has awarded a $3 million grant to Mutual Housing California to support the development of Fairview Terrace, a new affordable housing community that will provide 76 homes for income-qualified adults age 55 and older.

A safe, stable place to live can have a powerful impact on health and well-being. Fairview Terrace will help more seniors remain connected to the community they call home while providing affordable housing options in Stockton.

For nearly a decade, Mutual Housing California has worked alongside the Cleaner Air Partnership to help create healthier, more equitable communities across the Sacramento region.

That work has included bringing Our Community CarShare to Mutual Housing communities, expanding access to zero-emission transportation and supporting EV charging infrastructure at affordable multifamily housing communities. For households with extremely limited incomes, investments like these are more than sustainability efforts. They are critical social infrastructure that can expand access to transportation, opportunity and a healthier environment.

Mutual Housing is excited to join Breathe California Sacramento Region and other partners in celebrating 40 years of the Cleaner Air Partnership and the regional leadership that continues to move this work forward.

We look forward to building on this longstanding collaboration and continuing to advance cleaner air, greater access and healthier communities together.

Big news for the factory-built housing journey we’ve been sharing with you. 🏗️

Mutual Housing California has been awarded $2.8 million from the California Strategic Growth Council to help take what we’re learning across six factory-built affordable housing communities and turn it into a roadmap that can help more communities build housing differently.

We’re proud that a Sacramento-grown nonprofit is helping advance this work as part of $10 million in new investments in factory-built housing across California.

Best of all, this work is already becoming real.

Fairview Terrace in Stockton is under construction, and soon we’ll celebrate a milestone we’ve been looking forward to for a long time: watching its first factory-built homes be set into place.

It’s encouraging to see local housing experience helping inform the conversation at the federal level.

We appreciate Yolo County Housing for convening local leaders and housing partners for this important conversation with Congressman Mike Thompson—and Congressman Mike Thompson for leaning on the on-the-ground experience and expertise of nonprofit affordable housing developers and other local partners as federal housing policy moves forward.

Mutual Housing California was glad to be part of the discussion, with Acquisitions Manager Parker Evans joining partners from across the region to share perspectives on what it takes to move affordable homes from plans to reality.

Conversations like these—and the partnerships behind them—are essential to expanding housing opportunities and strengthening communities throughout the region.
