Thank you to everyone who came out and made last night’s National Night Out such a tremendous success!

It was a fantastic evening of connecting with our community, meeting new neighbors, and strengthening the partnerships that help keep our community safe.

Events like National Night Out remind us that public safety is built on trust, teamwork, and communication. We enjoyed the opportunity to answer questions, share fire safety tips, meet so many families, and see the incredible support our community has for its first responders.

We are proud to serve such an engaged and supportive community.

🐻 Bear Sighting Alert

A bear has been spotted in the area near Foothills Blvd between Blue Oaks Blvd and Pleasant Grove.

While bear sightings are uncommon in Roseville, they can happen—especially as wildlife travels in search of food and water.

If you encounter a bear:
• Keep your distance and never approach it.
• Do not feed or attempt to attract the bear.
• Secure garbage, pet food, and other food sources.
• Keep pets on a leash and supervise them outdoors.
• If you see a bear, give it plenty of space and allow it to move on.

If the bear is behaving aggressively or poses an immediate threat to public safety, call 911.

California Department of Fish and Wildlife has been notified of the sighting.

This afternoon Roseville Fire responded to a vegetation fire in the grass area off of Reserve Drive and Roseville Parkway.

A quick fire attack kept the fire to approximately 3/4 acres and damage was limited to heat damage to a nearby car and detached garage.

As a reminder a single spark or small flame can quickly grow into a dangerous wildfire or structure fire. As our area heads into a period of extreme heat and dry vegetation, fire conditions become even more hazardous. Take extra care with any activity that could create a spark, and help protect our community by preventing fires before they start.

Update: This afternoon, Roseville Fire responded to reports of a structure fire in the Foothills Junction neighborhood.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a fully involved garage fire in a single-family residence. An agressive fire attack operation by firefighters limited the fire to the garage area, preventing spread to the rest of the home and attic area.

All occupants of the home were able to safely evacuate before the fire departments arrival on scene. The homeowner reported that the fire did involve lithium ion batteries that were charging in the garage, however at this time it has not been determined if that was the cause of the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

We encourage everyone to use and charge lithium-ion batteries safely. Avoid overcharging, use the manufacturer's recommended chargers, keep batteries away from extreme heat, and replace any batteries that are damaged, swollen, or overheating. While the cause of this fire has not been determined, practicing safe battery handling can help reduce the risk of future incidents.

Fire is contained at this time. No injuries reported and all occupants safely evacuated prior to our arrival.
