Over the past two days, applicants for the Roseville Fire Cadet Program completed the Physical Agility Test, the first step in the selection process for our pilot Cadet Program.

Applicants were challenged through a series of evolutions designed to test strength, endurance, and their ability to follow instructions while working safely.

We’re proud of the effort we saw from everyone who showed up ready to take on the challenge!

Field Save Award Recognition

In March of this year, Engine 2 and AMR successfully achieved return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) on a 69-year-old male who suffered an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. The patient's wife witnessed the arrest and performed bystander CPR prior to EMS arrival. Upon achieving ROSC, the patient showed evidence of a STEMI on the 12-lead and was transported to a local hospital. The patient underwent a successful cardiac stent procedure and has survived without major neurological deficits.

Field Save Award Recognition

In April of this year, Engine 4 and AMR successfully achieved return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) on a 39-year-old male who suffered an unwitnessed out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. The patient was defibrillated three times on scene when ROSC was attained. Upon achieving ROSC, the patient was transported to a local hospital. The patient received an automatic implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (AICD) to monitor for cardiac arrhythmias and has survived without major neurological deficits.

This morning at 6:59 a.m., the moment the South Tower fell, our firefighters gathered at their respective stations around the flagpoles for a moment of silence.

With flags lowered to half-staff, we paused to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the courage and sacrifice of the first responders who ran toward danger while others were running away.

Twenty-five years later, we remember. We honor. We will never forget.

On that tragic day, 2,977 innocent people lost their lives, including 343 firefighters and 72 law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others.

Their courage, their sacrifice, and their memory will forever be a part of who we are.

Field Save Award Recognition

In May of this year, Engine 3 and AMR successfully achieved return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) on a 63-year-old male who suffered an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. Bystanders witnessed the arrest on a bicycle trail and initiated CPR prior to EMS arrival. On scene, CPR and a defibrillation resulted in ROSC. Upon achieving ROSC, the patient was transported to a local hospital. The patient was stabilized, transferred to another hospital for cardiology follow-up, and has survived without major neurological deficits.

Congratulations to Captain Kleefeld, Engineer Smith, and Firefighter Paramedic Pettinato! We are proud to recognize all three for their outstanding actions and dedication!

Field Save Award Recognition

Earlier this summer, Truck 1 and AMR successfully achieved return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) on a 67-year-old male who suffered an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. Bystander CPR was initiated before EMS arrival. Upon EMS arrival, the patient was defibrillated three times and given a total of 2 mg Epinephrine that resulted in ROSC. The patient was transported to a local hospital and has survived without major neurological deficits.
