SHRA is Sacramento's lead public and affordable housing agency and one of the largest residential rental property owners in Sacramento. SHRA manages over 3,100 units of affordable housing and administers approximately 13,000 rental assistance vouchers each month. SHRA uses a variety of financing tools to expand housing opportunities by rehabilitating and preserving older properties, building new r

ental and ownership housing, and boosting homeownership through mortgage assistance. SHRA has assisted in the production of more than 24,300 affordable housing units in the past 20 years. SHRA works proactively to create permanent supportive housing with social service partners for the hardest to house, and finds solutions to uplift disenfranchised communities. SHRA business hours are 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday by appointment. SHRA has developed a policy for social media. The purpose of this policy is to provide guidelines for appropriate use of SHRA sponsored social media sites. Content that is in violation of this policy may be deleted. A multi-agency city-county-state and private partnership over 20+ years culminated in a grand welcoming celebration at the Mutual Housing San Juan Apartment community Phase One on Stockton Blvd. The development provides affordable workforce homes for 112 income eligible families, featuring cutting edge energy efficient technology, community room, swimming pool, covered parking, bike storage, resident services, and beautiful murals create a sense of coming home. The original 1940's sign is a reminder of the site's storied history as an obsolete nuisance motel and trailer park demolished by SHRA, City-County collaboration across boundaries to assemble multiple parcels and infrastructure for the project, and ongoing revitalization efforts by the Stockton Boulevard Partnership.
