SacRT is inviting businesses and community members near the new Dos Rios Station across from Mirasol Village to join them for a Community Safety Walk & Talk on Wednesday, September 23, from 12:30–1:30 p.m. at 16th Street between Richards Blvd. and Sproule Ave. This will be an opportunity to meet with SacRT staff, walk the area around the new station, share safety concerns or observations, and learn more about SacRT’s safety and security resources.

The Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Commission will hold a regular meeting on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, in the Commission Room on the second floor of 801 12th Street, Sacramento, at 4:30 pm. The agenda and packet have been posted on our website at https://shra.portal.civicclerk.com/event/2170/files/agenda/5697. The Commission has an established regular meeting schedule. When there are no Commission business items requiring consideration or action, the scheduled meeting is canceled rather than held without official business to conduct.

In observance of Labor Day, all Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency offices, including Housing Choice Voucher and Conventional Public Housing, will be closed Monday, September 7, 2026. Additionally, Friday, September 4, 2026, is a regular scheduled SHRA closure day. Our 2026 closure dates are listed on our website at www.shra.org on the News and Information page under the Closure and Holiday Schedules section. All offices will reopen for regular business hours on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, by appointment only.

What a great day in Sacramento! We are thankful to our Congressional delegation for all their support in making the 21st Century Road to Housing Act a reality. This legislation is set to strengthen the tools that SHRA uses to preserve and modernize our public housing portfolio as well as to assist developers more quickly and efficiently with gap financing to further fuel the pipeline that builds affordable housing. This is a positive outcome for the families who so desperately need affordable housing in the City and County.
