Congratulations to the Unearth a Story summer reading program prize winners! Everyone did an amazing job this year; we have so many amazing readers in our community.

We’re not claiming that your public library is the coolest place in town during this heat wave. They do say a picture is worth a thousand words, though…. Spend some time chillin’ out today!

Borrow a board game at the circulation desk or leaf through a current magazine. Pull up a chair at the community jigsaw puzzle. Take some time to research genealogy or local history.

Grab a seat in the computer lab and explore the endless databases accessible on the library’s website. Did you know your library card gives you access to online academic and licensing practice tests? Health and wellness resources are also available at your fingertips. There’s even a database with live online assistance for veterans and their families.

We’re open from 10:00 until 5:00 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday; 10:00 to 7:00 on Thursday; and 10:00 to 1:00 on Saturday.

Mrs. Williams shared the bounty of her herb garden with library staff! She grew all but the rosemary from seeds that she got at the library, courtesy of Salem’s Walmart. The aroma is heavenly!

In observation of America's 250th anniversary, library patron and local author, Karen Goatkeeper, has been contributing reviews to the library newsletter on books set in different regions of our great nation.

Salem Public Library has put together a staff picks display in the juvenile section! Now, for our social media, we're hosting a fun matching game for our patrons. There will be one book of each staff member's choosing pictured here. Try to see if you can match the staff pick with the staff member!
